    "description": "<p>Controller <br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Overview <br>This critical position is responsible for partnering with the Chief Financial Officer and <br>Director of FP&amp;A to focus on achieving and optimizing the organization’s annual/multi-year <br>plans, growth and profitability. The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial <br>operations of the enterprise, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting, and ensuring <br>compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Operational areas of focus <br>include: accounting operations, internal financial report creation, guidance, audit support, <br>and team/staff development. <br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Primary Duties &amp; Responsibilities <br>• Acts as a key member of the Finance Department’s senior management team, also<br>including the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Financial Planning &amp; Analysis.<br>• Responsible for developing and managing the tools and processes supporting the<br>organization’s accounting operations and internal reporting requirements with an<br>emphasis on timely, accurate and repeatable results.<br>• Ownership for daily and ongoing enterprise accounting, including, but not limited to<br>monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close.<br>• Management of compliance and internal controls - ensures alignment with relevant<br>accounting standards/regulations and implements and manages internal controls to<br>safeguard company assets.<br>• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.<br>• Hires, trains and mentors Accounting team members, including Accounts Payable<br>and Receivable. Delegates work, as appropriate, to Accounting Department<br>members. Evaluates employee performance and provides development<br>opportunities for team members.<br>• Operates as a an enterprise financial risk consultant.<br>• Engages as a business liaison for audit requirements.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Skills &amp; Abilities <br>• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong presentation skills, as well<br>as the ability to influence others and resolve problems in a positive manner.<br>• Strong business acumen with in-depth working knowledge of all facets of the<br>construction industry and/or Ohio Valley Electrical Services (preferred).<br>• Must be able to work successfully in a team environment and provide mentoring to<br>less experienced individuals in the department, and work well with all levels of<br>management and staff within the organization.<br>• Executive presence and ability to interact with senior division leadership and<br>corporate executives.<br>• Strong management capabilities with experience in managing people with track<br>record of growing strong teams.<br>• Must operate with a sense of urgency.<br>• Accurate with keen attention to detail.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Qualifications <br>• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
