    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>In addition to his/her routine clinical duties as a staff Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), he/she is responsible for all quality initiatives and proactively and collaboratively promotes high quality, cost-effective anesthetic care by leading interactions with hospital medical staff and administration. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>About the Facility:  </strong>Southern Surgery Center provides orthopedic and pain management procedures for the physicians at Southern Bone and Joint Specialists. This facility includes four operating rooms, one procedure room, nine pre-op bays, nine recovery bays, two overnight extended care rooms, and a training observation room. The surgery center has achieved its sixth consecutive three-year accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.  Ambulatory healthcare organizations seeking accreditation by the AAAHC undergo an extensive onsite, peer-based survey of its facilities and services. Accredited status mean Southern Surgery Center has passed a series of rigorous and nationally-recognized standards for the provision of quality healthcare, set by the AAAHC. More than 5,000 ambulatory healthcare organizations across the United State are accredited by the AAAHC..</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Case Mix</strong>: Ortho only</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Schedule:</strong> 4 - 10 hour shifts per week, Monday through Friday, as needed.  This is a short term locum assignment (3-6 months, with option to extend).  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Credentialing Timeline:</strong>  30 days or less</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Call Requirements:  </strong>There are no call requirements for this position.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>**This is a 1099 independent contractor status. Come join a team committed to provider growth and continuing innovation in anesthesia!</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Administrative Duties</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>The CRNA must function as a collaborator and team member to accomplish applicable goals and functions of LifeLinc.</li>\n <li>Develop standards for continuity of care and case management.</li>\n <li>Remains cognizant of rules and regulation as they pertain to the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and remains compliant at a local, state, and federal level.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Clinical Duties </strong></p>\n<p>The CRNA scope of practice includes, but is not limited to, the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performing and documenting a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient, including requesting consultations and diagnostic studies; selecting, obtaining, ordering, or administering pre-anesthetic medications and fluids; and obtaining informed consent for anesthesia.</li>\n <li>The day to day responsibility of the CRNA for this position will be to perform conscious sedation/MAC anesthesia on outpatient and inpatient cases.</li>\n <li>Managing a patient's airway.</li>\n <li>Managing emergence and recovery from anesthesia.</li>\n <li>Releasing or discharging patients from a post-anesthesia care area, and providing post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care related to anesthesia side effects or complications.</li>\n <li>Responding to emergency situations by providing airway management, administration of emergency fluids or drugs, or using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques.</li>\n <li>Additional nurse anesthesia responsibilities which are within the expertise of the individual CRNA.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Communication</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Attends meetings as needed</li>\n <li>Works with peers to obtain required information on a timely basis and to solve outstanding issues, as appropriate.</li>\n <li>Promotes and contributes positively to the teamwork of the department by assisting coworkers, contributing ideas and problem-solving with co-workers.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Language Skills</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to read and write English.</li>\n <li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.</li>\n <li>Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.</li>\n <li>Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors, patients, patient's family and other employees of organization.</li>\n <li>Able to work in a team-oriented environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Computer Skills</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The CRNA will have successfully completed the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Council on Certification or its predecessor's.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Additional Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>At least two years of independent experience</li>\n <li>ACLS/BLS/PALS certification</li>\n</ul>",
