This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and growing Transportation Team, and to be a part of delivering CT's state roadway and safety projects. Experience working with CTDOT and local agencies is highly desired. </p>\n<ul>\n <li>2024 ENR New England Design Firm of the Year</li>\n <li>VHB Wins ACEC-CT Diversity, Equity Inclusion & Belonging Award</li>\n <li>2026 Best Places to Work - Hartford Business Journal</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p>VHB is seeking an individual to work within a team of highly motivated engineers to produce fully coordinated reports, plans, specifications, and deliverables. This may include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Conceptual and final design of roadway, highway, and multi-modal engineering solutions for a variety of transportation-related projects including development of geometric horizontal and vertical layout, grading and drainage design, and utilities layout</li>\n <li>Preparation and review of roadway design criteria, calculations, drawings, estimates, and specifications</li>\n <li>Development of 3D modeling for conceptual highway alignments</li>\n <li>Typical section development</li>\n <li>Preparation of right-of-way and easement plans</li>\n <li>Coordination with design team, clients, subconsultants, and stakeholders</li>\n <li>Construction support services (review of submittals and RFIs)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and Attributes</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines</li>\n <li>Team oriented and motivated to lead/mentor junior staff</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills</li>\n <li>Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented</li>\n <li>Knowledge of local and state regulations for highway design</li>\n <li>Solid report writing skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required</li>\n <li>5-8 years of highway transportation design engineering experience required</li>\n <li>Professional Engineer license</li>\n <li>Proficiency in MicroStation required</li>\n <li>Master’s degree a plus (may substitute for 1 year of experience)</li>\n <li>Knowledge of CTDOT policies, procedures and design standards preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Building what’s next, together.</strong></p>\n<p>Our people make the difference.
