    "description": "<h2>Position Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Position Description </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are hiring a R&D Principal Scientist – Raw Material Characterization. The R&D Principal Scientist – RMC will lead technical projects related to raw material characterization (RMC) and formulation science services to both internal and external customers.</p>\n<h2>Job Description</h2>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Build, manage and lead the RMC program and formulation science services group.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with Quality, Product Line Management, Procurement, Manufacturing and R&D to create solutions for optimal media formulation quality and supply chain and vendor management.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with external customers and provide formulation science services to create custom solutions for their formulations.</li>\n <li>Hands on laboratory presence as needed to perform experiments and guide/mentor scientists.</li>\n <li>Manage timelines for multiple projects.</li>\n <li>Prioritize work based on the relative importance and urgency for the overall business</li>\n <li>Effectively and consistently communicate with management and cross-functional teams on progress towards milestones and program needs </li>\n <li>Prepare formal reports and presentations for group meetings</li>\n <li>Apply scientific/ engineering principles and techniques to identify opportunities and improve media and buffer preparation processes</li>\n <li>Use professional concepts to perform a wide range of assigned work and solve complex problems in practical ways</li>\n <li>Work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes</li>\n <li>Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications</li>\n <li>Good Documentation Practices & Good Laboratory Practices</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills/Education: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><em><strong>PhD in Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry</strong></em></li>\n <li><em><strong>Minimum 10 years of working experience in Analytical Method Development and Optimization</strong></em></li>\n <li><em><strong>Relevant working experience in a process development and/or technical operations setting</strong></em></li>\n <li>Effective communication skills with external and internal customers</li>\n <li>Able to build strong relationships</li>\n <li>Strong background in applied chemistry</li>\n <li>Experience managing cross-functional projects</li>\n <li>Capable of working on complex problems of a challenging nature </li>\n <li>Capable of independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation of criteria for obtaining results to broadly defined objectives dictated by trends in business and the current product plan</li>\n <li>Experience in technology and process improvements </li>\n <li>Receives minimum instructions on routine work, general instructions on new assignments</li>\n <li>Ability to speak, write and read English fluently.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Salary and Benefits:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>For California, the base hourly range for this position is $104,313-$147,624.
