Position Overview Who You Are As an employee-owner , you embrace accountability, working safely, and collaboration while thinking resourcefully and independently. How You’ll Make an Impact Dudek is seeking a planner that will support obtaining regulatory approvals to construct and operate energy generation and infrastructure projects. The qualified candidate will play a key role in leading complex energy entitlement projects with a deep understanding of zoning laws, environmental regulations and energy sector development principles. The individual will be self-driven with a proven track record of working closely with engineering design teams, regulatory agencies, environmental subject matter experts, and land acquisition specialists. Duties and Responsibilities Interpret and apply zoning codes, general plans, and regulatory frameworks to inform project decision-making. Review and summarize legislative and regulatory updates, integrating them into project recommendations. Develop public-facing materials, such as presentations, maps, reports, and digital content. Engage with public agencies, private developers, and community organizations to integrate diverse perspectives. Serve as a task or phase manager, overseeing entitlement deliverables, critical issues analysis reports, schedules, and budgets. Assist in developing scopes of work, proposals, and cost estimates. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental scientists, and engineers. Direct client interface day-to-day and responsible for ensuring client expectations are met. Ability to effectively communicate with regulatory agencies to develop solutions for obtaining permits to construct and operate energy facilities. Generate professional work products independently with little senior review required. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of experience in land use policy, environmental planning, energy development, or a related combination of experience in similar fields Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, planning, geography, or a related field. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by the first day of employment Preferred Qualifications Experience with Colorado county permitting processes such as Conditional Use and Use by Special Review permits Experience with the 1041 Environmental Review process Experience developing projects on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands Strong technical writing and research skills as well as solid written and verbal communication skills. Customarily and regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment. Experience with public engagement, stakeholder coordination, and community outreach. Self-motivated with an interest to learn and grow as a project team. Compensation: $85,000-$95,000 annually* *Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check prior to beginning employment. Working Conditions Environment This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc. This job requires occasional project site visits, based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, and moving vehicles and equipment. Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This job requires the following: Working on a computer, sitting, or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting. Attending meetings, both in person and virtually, and speaking on the phone with peers, clients, etc. Specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
