Intertek’s Building Science Solutions (BSS) group is primarily focused on building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and field performance testing for new construction and retrofit projects.</p><p><strong>What are we looking for?</strong></p><p>The ideal&nbsp;<strong>Building Enclosure Consultant &amp; BECxP / Senior Project Manager</strong>&nbsp;will have a significant experience with building enclosure commissioning, and a solid background and interest in building enclosure and building envelope consulting for new and existing buildings. They should also have an interest in leading project teams, developing a client base, building the local BSS team and business, and contributing technically to our overall team. They have full responsibilities of the project including management of project teams, mentoring of staff, building client relationships and pursuing project work, and review of client deliverables, including technical content. This position will travel up to 25% outside the local area, dependent on project load.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Shift/Schedule:&nbsp;</strong>Monday – Friday 8AM-6PM</p><p><strong>Salary &amp; Benefits Information:</strong></p><p>Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.&nbsp;</p><p>In addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide and lead building enclosure commissioning projects. Also, train existing staff in BECx process and requirements.</li><li>Provide building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and design and construction phase services for new building projects.</li><li>Provide building enclosure investigations and assessments for existing building, and provide remedial repair designs and construction phase services when requested.</li><li>Prepare proposals for potential new work.</li><li>Assisting in meeting profit center financial goals.</li><li>Prepare professionally written deliverables, including proposals, technical report, design reviews, etc.</li><li>Provide on-the-job training and mentoring&nbsp;</li><li>Assist in hiring and training new building sciences team members, and mentor existing team members.</li><li>Assist the department manager with developing business and clients in the local area and assisting with national, larger pursuits outside of the local area.</li><li>Grow the local BSS office by balancing staff workloads and bringing in new work such that staff are adequately utilized</li><li>Participation in professional organizations, author papers, attend conferences, and/or perform work on technical committees</li></ul><p>This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Minimum Requirements &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Architectural Engineering&nbsp;and 5+ years’ experience in Building Enclosure consulting / industry</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:.5in;\"><strong>OR&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>We will also consider 10+ years’ experience in Building Enclosure consulting / industry in lieu of the bachelor’s degree</li><li>Professional registration or ability to obtain registration within one year (e.g. AIA, NCARB, SE, PE)</li><li>Building enclosure commissioning experience and proficiency</li><li>Excellent technical understanding of building enclosure systems and construction.</li><li>Experience in managing a range of small to large projects</li><li>Building Enclosure Project management experience</li><li>Ability to perform office tasks and physical labor tasks (e.g. work from ladders, boom-lifts, scaffolds, swing stages, roofs, etc.)</li><li>Excellent organizational and project management skills</li><li>Strong technical writing and communication skills</li><li>Consistent and professional interaction and communication with clients and project team</li><li>Ability to travel up to 25% outside local area, depending on local workload and project locations</li><li>Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report</li><li>Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Requirements &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Field and technical experience with diverse building types and enclosure systems</li><li>Additional registration or certification, or the ability to obtain such within one year (e.g., CBECxP, CxA+BE, BECxP, REWC, RRC, etc.)</li><li>Proficient and knowledge in computer modeling such as THERM, WUFI, EnergyPlus, COMcheck, and/or other similar tools&nbsp;</li><li>Building enclosure testing&nbsp;including functional performance testing and investigative testing</li><li>Property / façade condition assessments</li><li>Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam</li><li>AutoCAD/Revit/BIM/Sketch-up proficiency</li><li>Safety Training/Scaffold Certification</li></ul><p><strong>Intertek: Total Quality.
