          "text": "<p><strong><u>JOB SUMMARY</u></strong></p><p>This paragraph summarizes the general nature, level and purpose of the job.</p><p>The Pharmacy Technician Lead supports department leaders by functioning as a working lead for Pharmacy Technicians and guiding the day-to-day pharmacy technician operations. Serves as a resource or Subject Matter Expert (SME) for other pharmacy staff and ensures pharmacy technicians have the resources and training necessary to perform their jobs effectively and in compliance with applicable State Board of Pharmacy regulations.</p><p><strong><u>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</u></strong></p><p>The essential functions listed are typical examples of work performed by positions in this job classification. They are not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, tasks, and responsibilities. Employees may also perform other duties as assigned.</p><p>Employees must abide by all Joint Commission Requirements including but not limited to sensitivity to cultural diversity, patient care, patient rights and ethical treatment, safety and security of physical environments, emergency management, teamwork, respect for others, participation in ongoing education and training, communication and adherence to safety and quality programs, sustaining compliance with National Patient Safety Goals, and licensure and health screenings.</p><p>Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.</p><p>* Serves as Subject Matter Expert, create/modify training documents and draft/modify department standard operating procedures (SOP) under the guidance of supervisor(s) and/or manager(s) for assigned pharmacy area<br>\n* Provides and assists training, and coordinates training schedules in collaborations with department management for assigned pharmacy area<br>\n* Monitors daily workload and assists pharmacists and/or pharmacy management in organizing, directing, prioritizing and triaging workflow to meet required schedules and production requirements in assigned pharmacy areas<br>\n* Provides actionable feedback to employees to assure departmental policies/standards are being followed, and promote effective teamwork in the workplace in consultation with Pharmacy management<br>\n* Identifies opportunities and make recommendations to department management for improvement of workflow processes, operating systems, training programs, reference materials, and quality initiatives that enhance patient safety<br>\n* Performs audits for compliance<br>\n* Coaches and mentors pharmacy technicians and interns.</p><p>*Provides input on performance of pharmacy technicians to pharmacy management for annual performance review.<br>\n* Performs all duties of pharmacy technicians as required.</p>",

          "text": "<p><strong><u>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong></p><p>Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.</p><p><strong>Education:</strong> High School Diploma or GED equivalent</p><p><strong>Experience:</strong> Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience</p><p><strong>License/Certification:</strong></p><ul><li>Pharmacy Technician by California Board of Pharmacy</li><li>Certified Pharmacy Technician by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board</li></ul><p><strong><u>KNOWLEDGE</u></strong></p><p>These are the observable and measurable attributes and skills required to perform successfully the essential functions of the job and are generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education or licensure/certification.</p><p>* Ability to demonstrate PCARES and interacts professionally and appropriately with other healthcare professionals.<br>\n* Ability to perform routine mathematical calculations; weighing, measuring and documentation with accuracy.<br>\n* Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines.<br>\n* Ability to proactively use the problem solving process to identify, prevent or resolve departmental problems.<br>\n* Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job.<br>\n* Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.<br>\n* Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.<br>\n* Ability to work with devices, information systems, automated and technical equipment utilized in pharmacy.<br>\n* Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.<br>\n* Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility.<br>\n* Knowledge of methods and procedures involved in proper handling and storing of pharmaceutical supplies.</p><p><strong><u>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</u></strong></p><p>The Physical Requirements and Working Conditions in which the job is typically performed are available from the Occupational Health Department.
