    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; font-weight: bold;\">SVLG Policy Fellow – Infrastructure (Housing, Transportation, Energy)</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Shape the Future of California’s Built Environment</span></em></p>\n<p><em><br></em></p>\n<p>The <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Silicon Valley Leadership Group (SVLG)</span> is seeking a <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Summer Fellow</span> to support our</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Infrastructure-focused work</span> within our new <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Policy Fellowship Program</span>. This fellowship will</p>\n<p>provide early-career professionals with hands-on experience tackling California’s most urgent</p>\n<p>infrastructure challenges—<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">housing, transportation, energy, and grid resiliency</span>—from the</p>\n<p>perspective of the state’s innovation economy.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">About the Fellowship</span></p>\n<p>Fellows are placed within SVLG’s <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Infrastructure and Business Competitiveness track</span>, part</p>\n<p>of our restructured <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Centers of Expertise (COEs)</span>. You’ll join a cross-functional cohort of fellows</p>\n<p>across other issue areas, supporting SVLG’s real-time advocacy and helping advance</p>\n<p>infrastructure modernization strategies essential to California’s economic competitiveness.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Key Issue Areas</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sustainable and transit-oriented housing solutions</li>\n<li>Grid resiliency and clean energy policy</li>\n<li>Regional and state transportation investments</li>\n<li>Permitting and regulatory streamlining for infrastructure projects</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Primary Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Track and analyze state and local legislation, budget items, and regulatory developments</li>\n<li>Draft concise bill briefs, policy memos, and internal updates for SVLG leadership</li>\n<li>Support member engagement and coalition-building</li>\n<li>Assist in preparing briefing materials for meetings with public officials and stakeholders</li>\n<li>Contribute to events, workshops, and strategic convenings</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Ideal Candidate</span></p>\n<p>This opportunity is designed for <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">current undergraduate students or recent college</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">graduates</span> interested in pursuing careers in <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">political science, public policy, or related fields</span>.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Strong candidates will demonstrate:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>A genuine interest in infrastructure, sustainability, or economic development</li>\n<li>Coursework or experience in public policy, environmental studies, or urban planning</li>\n<li>Excellent writing, research, and communication skills</li>\n<li>A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Fellowship Terms &amp; Application Info</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Length:</span> 3–4 month terms (flexible start dates)</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Structure:</span> 1–2 fellows per issue area; cohort-based model</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Compensation:</span> Monthly stipend provided</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">To Apply</span></p>\n<p>Please submit your resume, cover letter, two writing samples and references. <br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em>SVLG is committed to building a diverse team.
