    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><p data-pasted=\"true\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">The Supreme Court of Nevada is currently accepting applications for judicial law clerkships starting in <strong>Summer/Fall of 2027</strong>. There are available in-chambers positions in both Carson City and Las Vegas. Clerkships are available for either one or two years, depending on the preference of the Justice.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">As a law clerk, you&#39;ll work directly with a Justice, assisting in processing appeals and writ petitions. Your tasks will include legal research, drafting bench memoranda, preparing orders and opinions, and reviewing documents produced in chambers.</span></p><p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Clerking at the Supreme Court of Nevada provides a rare opportunity to receive direct mentorship from a Justice on Nevada&rsquo;s highest court. Law clerks work closely with their Justice on complex legal issues, gaining firsthand insight into appellate decision-making, judicial reasoning, and writing dispositions.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Please note that the role may require occasional holiday, night, and weekend work, as well as periodic out-of-town travel.</span></p><p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"><strong>Examples of Essential Duties:</strong></span></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Review cases assigned to chambers</li><li style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Conduct the necessary legal research in a thorough and meticulous manner</li><li style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Prepare concise, well organized bench memos, opinions, and orders</li><li style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Handle original petitions and petitions for rehearing&nbsp;</li><li style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Edit own work product and that of co-clerks</li><li style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Review all current decisions published by this court&nbsp;</li><li style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Keep abreast of decisions from other courts that may be applicable to pending Nevada cases</li><li style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Carefully proofread orders and opinions&nbsp;</li><li style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Observe oral arguments</li></ul><p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"><strong>Qualifications:</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Must have graduated with a Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school by the start of the clerkship, preferably in the top 20% of the class.</span></p><p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Law review or other journal experience is desirable.</span></p><p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Law clerks must possess exceptional legal research and writing abilities, must be flexible, and must be motivated to work independently to produce high quality work in a fast-paced appellate environment.</span></p><p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"><strong>Applicants should submit a resume, cover letter, transcripts, writing sample, and list of three references.&nbsp;</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"><strong>Additional:&nbsp;</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Nevada enjoys abundant sunshine throughout the year, making it an attractive destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
