Description
Summary:
The Long-Term Librarian Substitute is responsible for managing the borrowing and returning of library materials, supervising the use of library space, and providing basic instruction on library resources as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assume responsibility for the organization and maintenance of all materials and equipment. Oversee the checking in and checking out of all materials. Coordinate and cooperate closely with the Lower school librarian. Supervise the withdrawal of obsolete or damaged materials. Participate in faculty, curriculum, and technology meetings Assess student learning information needs, locate and use resources that will meet those needs, and understand and communicate the information the resources provide. Provide resource support to students and faculty in Middle and Upper School. Promote literacy and the enjoyment of reading. Create a library media center environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and the interests of the students. Operate computer systems for research, circulation of media and collection management. Adhere to established laws, policies, rules, and regulations including copyright laws. Other duties as assigned.
