If you are a team player with a passion to drive your career in Construction Inspection, Popli Design Group (PDG) is the place for you! PDG is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector - NICET I to add to our growing and talented team. The role is suitable for individuals interested in gaining practical experience in performing Transportation Construction Inspection (TCI) duties on transportation projects like highways, bridges, culverts, and more. As a TCI, you will work on construction projects across different regions of the state under the guidance of experienced field inspectors. Your responsibilities will involve providing support for inspection and documentation of the contractor's work, conducting on-site testing of materials, and assisting with other necessary activities. This includes performing field measurements, collecting data for daily progress reports, and carrying out quantity calculations to generate progress payment estimates. Ability to read plans, communicate well, and use various computer software applications are desired skills for this position. The candidate for this position should demonstrate punctuality and excellent organizational skills to effectively manage tasks and responsibilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial for clear and concise interaction with team members. Basic computer skills are required to navigate various software and tools. The ability to understand and follow instructions is essential for carrying out assigned tasks accurately. An Associate's degree in Civil Engineering/Technology indicates a solid educational foundation in the field, providing the necessary knowledge and understanding of relevant concepts and principles. Responsibilities Assist in Inspection progress of basic construction operations (Earthwork, Pavement). Collection of field data (using simple survey techniques, GPS and other tools of the trade). Recognize unsafe construction procedures and site conditions. Inspect erosion control and protection of environmental features. Assist in inspection of basic work zone traffic control set ups.
