This role ensures the safe execution of programs and promotes knowledge-sharing both internally and externally. You’ll lead patient services, guide medical communications, and help shape medical policies and procedures. This position also supports and mentors volunteers who contribute to our mission.</p><h3></h3><p><b>WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD:</b></p><ul><li><p>Provide medical consultation in transfusion medicine, blood banking, and patient services to hospital clients, fostering strong and collaborative relationships.</p></li><li><p>Deliver continuing medical education to internal and external audiences, promoting safe and effective use of blood components.</p></li><li><p>Lead patient service programs such as therapeutic apheresis, stem cell collection and processing, perioperative autologous cell salvage, and patient blood management.</p></li><li><p>Oversee medical aspects of regulated blood center operations including donor management, recipient adverse reactions, and product investigations.</p></li><li><p>Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to donor eligibility, component quality, and transfusion practices.</p></li><li><p>Serve as CLIA Laboratory Director for regulated collection activities and laboratories including immunohematology, HLA, stem cell, and national testing labs.</p></li><li><p>Investigate donor and recipient concerns, transfusion-related issues, and customer service complaints, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate leadership notification.</p></li><li><p>Support, mentor, and guide volunteers to enhance their contributions and professional development.</p></li></ul><p></p><p>This position is designed as a <b>remote role</b>, allowing flexibility in the primary work location. Requiring a <b>regular regional onsite presence </b>and travel to support business needs. The selected candidate will be expected to travel periodically and be onsite within the designated region as needed. This position will NOT be eligible for relocation assistance.</p><p></p><p>*Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience and certifications cannot be substituted).</p><p></p><p><i>WHAT WILL SET YOU APART</i></p><p>Fellowship training or significant experience:</p><ul><li><p>Stem Cell and Cellular Therapy, Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation, and/or Regenerative Medicine</p></li><li><p>Proven leadership in expanding clinical programs and driving innovation.</p></li><li><p>Experience in developing and implementing cutting-edge medical practices in transfusion and cellular therapies.</p></li><li><p>Exceptional verbal and written skills for engaging stakeholders, including hospital leadership, donors, and external partners</p></li></ul><p></p><p>The salary range for this position is $195,500-$250,000</p><p>This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.</p><p>Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.</p><ul></ul><h3><b>WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:</b></h3><ul><li><p><b>Education:</b> M.D. or D.O. with post-graduate specialization in transfusion medicine.
