TMH is the region's healthcare leader and top provider of advanced care with a 772-bed acute care hospital and the region's only:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Level II Trauma Center </li>\n <li>Primary Stroke Center </li>\n <li>Level III Neonatal Intensive Care </li>\n <li>Pediatric Intensive Care </li>\n <li>The most advanced cancer, heart and vascular, orthopedic & surgery programs in the Panhandle. </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Our system also includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, six residency programs and more than 50 affiliated physician practices. </p>\n<h2>HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT</h2>\n<p><strong>Job Summary:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Supervises the Centralized Telemetry Surveillance Center (CTSC). </li>\n <li>Oversees monitoring and interpreting cardiac telemetry rhythms accurately in a centralized location. </li>\n <li>Reports rhythm changes, arrhythmias, or poor signal issues to the appropriate nursing unit. </li>\n <li>Promotes professionalism, leading through example and encouraging a caring, helpful, responsive attitude to telemetry alarms, monitoring, and colleagues consistently. </li>\n <li>Supervises and establishes monitor technician functions and assesses employee performance. </li>\n <li>Oversees ongoing monitor technician education requirements and CTSC quality assurance initiatives. </li>\n <li>Attends meetings and participates in workgroups at the RN/Director Nursing Practice's direction. </li>\n <li>Coordinates efficient telemetry services and assists with telemetry justification review (as needed). </li>\n <li>Promotes a safe environment for patients and colleagues; performs all related job responsibilities safely. </li>\n <li>Maintains clinical and professional competency and certification(s). </li>\n <li>Oversees onboarding and precepting new monitor technicians. </li>\n <li>Orders supplies and manages inventory. </li>\n <li>Assists with other in-unit tasks as the RN/Director Nursing Practice directs.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Reports:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>RN [Registered Nurse]/Director Nursing Practice (job code (JC): 035001)</li>\n</ul> \n<p><strong>Supervises:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Monitor Technician I (JC: 669506) and Monitor Technician II (061206)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Education:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., certificate of high school equivalency). </li>\n <li>Successful completion of a cardiac arrhythmia interpretation program (including passing an in-depth arrythmia-specific test using caliper measurements and rhythm changes evaluation over time using full disclosure).</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em><strong>Preferred Education:</strong></em></p>\n<ul>\n <li><em>Successful completion of an accredited paramedic or practical nursing program. </em></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Required Experience: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Three (3) years of telemetry monitoring experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><em>Preferred Experience:</em></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><em>Two (2) years of emergency medical services (EMS) paramedic field experience (including electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) teaching experience), or two (2) years of EMS, emergency room (ER), or practical nursing experience (including telemetry).  </em></li>\n <li><em>Experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.  </em></li>\n <li><em>Leadership experience (e.g., coordinating staff scheduling, workflow, and multiple telemetry monitoring functions).  </em></li>\n <li><em>Electronic health records (EHR) experience.</em></li>\n <li><em>In depth knowledge of patient throughput processes.  </em></li>\n <li><em>General knowledge of performance improvement (PI) management and Lean techniques.  </em></li>\n <li><em>Understanding of telemetry monitoring systems.  </em></li>\n <li><em>Familiarity with supply ordering and inventory practices.  </em></li>\n <li><em>Strong personal computer (PC) skills; Microsoft 365 (i.e., Word, Flow, Forms, and Excel) proficiency.  </em></li>\n <li><em>Effective communication and team building skills.  </em></li>\n <li><em>Prioritization and time management skills.  </em></li>\n <li><em>Problem solving and analytical skills.  </em></li>\n <li><em>Ability to work across all management lines and with medical staff members to promote good inter-departmental relationships.  </em></li>\n <li><em>Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy and accountability. </em></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Required Certification/License/Registry:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications. </li>\n <li>National Telemetry Certification (NTC) from the National Telemetry Association (NTA) within six (6) months post-hire.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em><strong>Preferred Certification/License/Registry:</strong></em></p>\n<ul>\n <li><em>Certified as a paramedic in accordance with Florida Statues (FS), Title XXIX (Public Health), Chapter 401 (Medical Telecommunications and Transportation), Part III (Medical Transportation Services) </em><strong><em>OR</em></strong></li>\n <li><em>Licensed as a practical nurse (LPN) in accordance with FS, Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nursing Practice Act).  </em></li>\n <li><em>NTC from the NTA at hire.</em></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>-</h2>\n<p><em>Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is an equal opportunity employer and drug-free workplace.
