    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><p data-pasted=\"true\"><br></p><p><strong>Summary Job Description</strong></p><p>Covenant Day School is seeking experienced, energetic, and dynamic individuals to serve as lower school teachers in support of Covenant Day School&rsquo;s mission for providing academic excellence with a biblical worldview to our students. &nbsp;Teachers will be willing to lead a classroom at a fourth or fifth grade level based on scheduling decisions for the 2026-2027 school year. The role includes all aspects of teaching, classroom management, and student/parent interactions. &nbsp;Reporting to the lower school principal, the position is a full-time salaried (exempt) faculty position with responsibilities that begin in early August 2026. &nbsp;Currently, two teachers are needed for one 4<sup>th</sup> and one 5<sup>th</sup> grade opening.</p><p>&nbsp;At Covenant Day School, our vision is to transform hearts and minds for the glory of Jesus Christ. &nbsp;We desire to carry out this vision as a unified and diverse covenant school community that seeks to love the Lord with heart, soul and mind, love our neighbor as ourselves and demonstrate the &ldquo;more excellent way&rdquo; that only comes though the gospel of Jesus Christ. &nbsp;We are committed to welcoming one another, to striving to honor each other consistently, to walking in humility toward one another, and to examining the Scriptures with one another.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Essential Functions and Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Duties Include:</p><ul><li>Developing lesson plans and instructional objectives for classroom learning that align with curriculum.</li><li>Regularly incorporating biblical integration and worldview naturally into teaching content.</li><li>Preparing classroom and other materials for activities; participating and partnering well in grade level team shared planning.</li><li>Selecting instructional resources based on class and individual student needs and in collaboration with other faculty as appropriate.</li><li>Using various technologies to support classroom learning.</li><li>Observing and assessing student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals to provide feedback to students, parents, and administration.</li><li>Comfortable with small group instruction and differentiation.</li><li>Managing and guiding student behavior. Providing feedback and encouragement to students on their work and progress.</li><li>Communicating with parents regarding student needs and progress.</li><li>Managing and directing assistant teacher to provide an effective classroom learning environment and address the individual needs of students.</li><li>Participating in department and curriculum management activities and planning as appropriate.</li><li>Creating and maintaining a nurturing and effective learning environment.</li><li>Taking advantage of professional development opportunities and keeping up-to-date with developments in appropriate subject areas.</li><li>Having an attitude of Christian service and modeling Christian principles and behavior to students and colleagues.</li><li>Other duties as assigned by the lower school principal or assistant principal.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Committed follower of Jesus Christ reflecting a desire to serve Him and others in work and life.</li><li>Eager to serve in a Christian learning environment, modeling diligence, perseverance, resilience, patience, courage, and Christian discipleship.</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in education required. Teaching experience preferred. Experience teaching Singapore Math preferred; teaching license beneficial.</li><li>Positive attitude and a genuine love for and ability to connect with lower school students and parents.</li><li>Passion for learning, strong classroom management skills, and a willingness to work collaboratively.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, and faculty/staff.</li><li>Able to represent the school well to others and our community.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to serve with initiative and pro-active approaches.</li><li>Experience with distance learning and related techniques beneficial for environment shifts as needed.</li><li>Computer skills as applicable for effective teaching in person or remotely, if needed.</li><li>Lifting, pushing and/or pulling up to 40 pounds when occasionally needed.</li></ul></div></div></div>\n",
