Description

Ding is the world's leading universal top-up service. Founded in 2006, Ding was born from seeing something that wasn't there. More than 80% of the world's 5 billion mobile phones are now prepaid and growing. We believe mobile phones can change lives and we want to improve people's lives by helping those with less to gain access to more. Ding is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, and has employees working across the world! We are proud of our culturally diverse team of more than 200 employees, all with unique personalities who support our commitment to delivering cutting-edge, potentially life-changing technology to developed and emerging markets alike. Our aim is to build and run the safest, simplest, most effective and convenient top-up technology, in partnership with the best operators and platforms. We'll continue to spread joy across the globe, helping people everywhere to send little bytes of happiness to their loved ones, keeping our customers connected to their families and friends. Now more than ever we realise the importance of keeping in touch and here at Ding we believe a little goes a long way. We're always on the lookout for talented people who embody our core values: We're Here to Make a Difference We are Thinkers, Linkers & Doers We Win Together We Imagine Boldly & Build Fast About the role: Our B2B business is built around several hundred distributor partners who use the DingConnect API to sell mobile top-up and digital products to their end customers. Pricing those products correctly, at the distributor-corridor-product level, is core to how we earn gross margin. There are thousands of live combinations and they move constantly with FX, supplier rate changes, and partner activity. You will sit within the commercial analytics function and work day-to-day with the pricing team, account managers, and finance. The role is operational and analytical in roughly equal measure. Some days you will be investigating a corridor-level margin movement. Other days you will be writing the logic that adjusts a discount, briefing an Account Manager on partner performance, or putting together the weekly trading report. What you will do: Support daily pricing operations on the B2B channel. Apply pricing changes in response to FX movements, supplier rate changes, distributor commission updates, and competitive activity. Monitor gross margin across distributors and corridors. Investigate movements. Distinguish noise from signal. Maintain pricing rules and business logic. Find edge cases where the rules misbehave and propose fixes. Produce daily and weekly trading reports for commercial leadership: sales versus plan, GM% versus plan, distributor concentration, corridor performance, FX markup, distributor discount. Support forecasting work, including seasonal patterns such as Eid, Ramadan, and regional festivals, and underlying trend identification. Work with Account Managers to brief them on partner-level performance, flag at-risk distributors, and prepare data for partner reviews. Run ad-hoc analysis for the pricing team and senior commercial stakeholders. Quick turnaround, clear write-up, explicit assumptions. What we need from you: Bachelor’s degree in management accounting, finance, economics, or a related quantitative field. One to three years of experience in a finance, pricing, or commercial analytics role. Fintech, payments, telco, or e-commerce experience is a strong plus. Strong written and spoken English. Strong Excel. Comfortable with large datasets, lookups, complex formulas, and pivot tables. Familiarity with at least one BI tool (Looker, Power BI, Tableau, Sigma) is a significant plus. A working grasp of gross margin, gross profit, discounts, commissions, and FX markup mechanics. If you cannot yet calculate an effective margin from a list of components, you can learn it quickly. Comfortable with ambiguity and imperfect data. Willing to ask why a number moved before assuming it is correct. AI literacy: This is a 2026 analyst role. We expect you to use AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and ChatGPT to accelerate routine work: drafting Excel formulas, summarising long datasets, structuring first-pass analyses, writing SQL and DAX. That is normal and we encourage it. What we care about is what comes after. You stay accountable for what you submit. You verify outputs against source data. You can explain the logic without the tool. You recognise when AI output does not match what the numbers actually say, and you flag it rather than pass it on. Candidates who can show fluent, judicious use of AI tools alongside strong fundamentals will have an advantage. Candidates who lean on AI to substitute for the fundamentals will struggle in this role. Nice to have: Direct exposure to pricing, fintech, or remittance business models. Working knowledge of FX markets or cross-border payments. Experience with API-delivered products or distributor channels. Python or SQL familiarity. Working pattern: The role is full-time and based in our Banani office. Some overlap with European hours is expected given that the wider commercial team works out of Dublin. We will agree the specific pattern with you when you join. Hiring process: After application screening, suitable candidates will be invited to complete two practical exercises. A commercial mechanics exercise covering FX conversion, gross margin, gross profit, discounts, and commissions. We want to see your calculation logic, not just the answer. An Excel dataset analysis exercise. We give you a dataset and ask you to identify trends, flag commercial risks, and write up your findings clearly. You may be asked to walk through your approach in a follow-up conversation. Use of AI tools during the exercises is fine and expected. Be ready to explain and defend your own work. Why the role matters: B2B pricing is where Ding earns the bulk of our gross profit. Small adjustments to a distributor commission or a corridor markup translate into material P&L movements at the group level. The work this role does feeds directly into pricing decisions, partner reviews, and the weekly trading rhythm. It is a strong place to learn how commercial decisions move a real business. Ding is committed to creating equal employment opportunities in the workplace. We know that experience looks different for everyone – if you believe your proven experience would suit this role and is what we are looking for we encourage you to apply. Life at Ding: At Ding, we are striving to grow and nurture a culture that is inclusive, global, and equitable but most of all fun! In addition to your basic salary and bonus there are many benefits also available across Ding. Some are recent additions, some have been enhanced and others have been there all along! YOLO days & Dingversary Leave:  additional holidays the year of your 4th/7th/10th/13th Anniversary Work Abroad Programme:  the opportunity to work for 30 days from another country each year Transportation Allowance Monthly Mobile Allowance Wellness Programme:  with monthly events, both virtual and in-person And others... Our aim is to build and run the safest, simplest, most effective and convenient top-up technology, in partnership with the best operators and platforms. Now more than ever we realise the importance of keeping in touch and here at Ding we believe a little goes a long way.
