    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.  <strong>Must be able to work in Mechanicsburg, PA 2x per week.</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>As an  Oracle/Postgres Database Administrator with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following: Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support for Oracle and PostgreSQL in a traditional on-premise VMware environment and an AWS Cloud environment.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide Oracle/PostgreSQL database management and life cycle support for a collaborative engineering tools environment.</li>\n <li>Implement the conversion of existing databases to meet new release requirements.</li>\n <li>Evaluate the effectiveness of database management technology and investigates problems and inefficiencies in a well-established data base environment.</li>\n <li>Determine the impact of new or revised software on system operations and applications.</li>\n <li>Investigate factors such as amount of storage space consumed, access times, frequencies of reads and writes, and problems encountered by other application and systems programmers using the DBMS software.</li>\n <li>Evaluate and determines alternatives, and initiates corrective action to recover/restore data and return system back to normal operations.</li>\n <li>Administer day-to-day database operation and maintenance in an environment in which the system software is typically available from vendors and widely used.</li>\n <li>Ensure the database efficiently collects, stores, and processes data.</li>\n <li>Run utility routines/programs and investigate when reports indicate a decline in computer performance.</li>\n <li>Develop and maintain security procedures to guard against unauthorized intrusion into databases.</li>\n <li>Develop procedures and recommend methods to insure rapid access to all data.</li>\n <li>Analyze use of archived data and develop ways to insure optimum use of existing systems.</li>\n <li>Provide assistance to programmers/analysts in program development, testing, and implementation of modified programs.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>AMS1</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.</li>\n <li>Must be able to work in Mechanicsburg, PA 2 times per week.</li>\n <li>COMPTIA Security + required</li>\n <li>4+ years of overall professional experience. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Pay Transparency Statement</h2>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $125,000.00/Yr. - USD $155,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
