Join us in making a real difference in the health of our community.</em></p>\n<h2>Job Summary</h2>\n<p><strong>Job Summary:</strong> The Physician Assistant will support the doctors’ work and actively facilitate patients’ recovery. You will apply medical techniques and principles under the direction of a physician and you will deal with a diverse set of patients offering them care and encouragement.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities include:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide healthcare services under supervision of a physician.</li>\n <li>Examine patients and record their medical histories.</li>\n <li>Conduct physicals and treat minor injuries (sutures, splints, etc)</li>\n <li>Order diagnostic tests, interpret results and diagnose medical conditions.</li>\n <li>Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval.</li>\n <li>Monitor responses to treatments and counsel patients.</li>\n <li>Assess patients’ health and their demands and aim to fulfill them as well as possible.</li>\n <li>Issue appropriate prescriptions and administer medicine.</li>\n <li>Inform physicians about any problems or discrepancies that might arise.</li>\n <li>Acquire and review patient histories identifying abnormal conditions.</li>\n <li>Monitor patients’ progress and keep records of treatments, surgeries or other medical events.</li>\n <li>Prepare patients for examinations and conduct routine procedures (measure blood pressure and temperature, administer injections etc)</li>\n <li>Provide therapeutic treatments (disinfecting wounds, stitching etc.)</li>\n <li>Collaborate effectively with team members of various specializations.</li>\n <li>Attend to emergencies.\n  <ul>\n   <li>Following patients to identify their response to procedures and determine an appropriate continued plan of care and medication management planning.</li>\n  </ul>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Consenting patients for procedures they are going to have.</li>\n  </ul>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Assisting with triaging patient referrals.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Job Requirements: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Master’s Degree required</li>\n <li>Active New York license as a Physician Assistant</li>\n <li>Currently New York Controlled Substance and Drug Enforcement Registration</li>\n <li>Master's degree</li>\n <li>Graduate of an approved PA Program and a post-graduate training program in surgery or at least one-year equivalent work experience</li>\n <li>Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)</li>\n <li>Emergency Medicine / Family Practice/Acute Care</li>\n <li>DOT, BLS, ACLS Preferred</li>\n <li><strong>Bilingual a plus - Spanish</strong></li>\n <li>Proven work experience as a physician assistant or nurse</li>\n <li>Knowledge of EMR Systems preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Equal Opportunity Employer</h2>\n<p><strong><em>Essen Health care is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, and we seek candidates who desire to work in and serve an ethnically diverse population.</em></strong></p>",
