The clinical teams at the area’s clinics are improving outcomes, lowering the number of hospital readmissions and reducing avoidable costs associated with treating chronic conditions. The UnityPoint Clinic team is known for excellence and quality patient care putting patients at the center of their care to provide the best level of health and well-being.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Join a collaborative team of OB/GYN physicians committed to delivering outstanding, evidence-based care.</li>\n <li>Practice in newly expanded, state-of-the-art Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) suites with 24 beds</li>\n <li>Level II NICU support on site</li>\n <li>Total practice delivery volume averages approximately 1,300 deliveries annually</li>\n <li>Provide full-scope midwifery care in both inpatient and outpatient settings</li>\n <li>Independently manage high-risk obstetrical cases while collaborating closely with OB/GYN physicians </li>\n <li>Perform vaginal births, laceration repairs, and serve as first surgical assist for cesarean sections and gynecologic surgeries.</li>\n <li>Triage, assess, and manage emergent obstetric patients in collaboration with RNs and OB/GYNs.</li>\n <li>Manage hospital labor assessments and admissions, including normal and abnormal labor.</li>\n <li>Perform in-office procedures including IUDs, PAPs, Nexplanon insertion, EMB as needed</li>\n <li>Rotate with one other midwife to provide physician assistance, including labor support and surgical first assist coverage.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team including OB/GYNs, RNs, LCSWs, health coaches, lactation counselors, childbirth educators, and other specialists.</li>\n <li>Two clinic locations, including one located on the hospital campus.</li>\n <li>Benefit from on-site ultrasound availability at both clinic locations.</li>\n <li>Nurse Triage Service serves as the first line for after-hours patient calls, managing routine OB/GYN questions.</li>\n <li>Utilize a fully integrated Epic EMR system to enhance care coordination.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>No call and a 4-day work week</li>\n <li>10-hour shifts with flexibility </li>\n <li>No evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays</li>\n <li>High level of autonomy with strong physician collaboration</li>\n <li>Serve as primary clinical presence on Labor & Delivery, including in house coverage</li>\n <li>Provide <strong>inpatient, full-scope midwifery care</strong> on Labor & Delivery, including in-house clinical coverage.</li>\n <li>Attend and manage labor and delivery, monitor fetal status, administer medications, and support patients through birth.</li>\n <li>Perform vaginal deliveries and laceration repairs.</li>\n <li>Serve as <strong>first surgical assist</strong> for cesarean sections and gynecologic procedures.</li>\n <li>Triage and manage emergent obstetric patients in collaboration with OB/GYN physicians and nursing staff.</li>\n <li>Manage labor assessments, admissions, and care for both normal and high-risk obstetrical patients.</li>\n <li>Provide occasional outpatient clinic coverage to support continuity of care, including prenatal, postpartum, and women’s health visits.</li>\n <li>Collaborate closely with OB/GYN physicians within a <strong>physician-led, team-based model</strong> to ensure safe, high-quality, evidence-based care.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)</li>\n <li>Board Eligible or Board Certified</li>\n <li>Eligible for and able to obtain an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa</li>\n <li>Current, unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as appropriate to the scope of practice</li>\n <li>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>",
