    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Works on a survey crew with the crew chief on multiple projects to setup and operate surveying instruments, and compile notes, make sketches and enter data into computers.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Sets up and operates surveying equipment such as Robotic Total Stations, Digital Levels, Data Collectors and Global Positioning Systems (GPS).</li>\n <li>Assists in taking field notes, collection of field survey data and performs computations.</li>\n <li>Reads and interprets construction plans and drawings.</li>\n <li>Maintains, cleans and organizes survey vehicle and equipment.</li>\n <li>Sets stakes for a variety of commercial and industrial projects.</li>\n <li>Carries equipment and tools for long distances.</li>\n <li>Controls traffic when working in or near roadways.</li>\n <li>Clears brush and small trees.</li>\n <li>Adheres to safety protocols and procedures outlined by PEA Group.</li>\n <li>May perform other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Formal Education, Licenses and Certifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School diploma or equivalent.</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>No experience necessary.</li>\n <li>General knowledge of math and trigonometry.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Competencies and Personal Attributes</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Good hand writing and ability to sketch and document. </li>\n <li>Strong math skills and interest in mathematics.</li>\n <li>Willingness to work in an outdoors environment in various weather conditions.</li>\n <li>Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.</li>\n <li>Strong work ethic and ability to work well on a team.</li>\n <li>Positive attitude and desire to learn.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Fieldwork involves working outdoors in all types of weather, walking long distances, and standing for extended periods while measurements are taken. While performing these duties, an employee is frequently required to sit; talk; hear; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Availability</strong></p>\n<p>This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., overtime and weekends as required.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Travel</strong></p>\n<p>As a part of performing this position’s duties, travel will be required to respective job sites in the Southeast Michigan Area and throughout the United States.</p>",
