The Beverly Garland Hotel
Position: Food Server/Cocktail Server
Department: The Front Yard
Division: Food & Beverage
Position Purpose: Execution of food service and all of the components involved at the highest level in the restaurant. Communicate with guests, general public, management and staff in English. Understand and comply with Policies and Procedures, job description, job requirements, daily memorandums and other instructions.
Essential Job Functions:
Fully understands the menu and wine list. From the standpoint of ingredients and preparation of the dishes to the delivery and service expected to accompany the dish.
Delivers all required Service Accents to the guest (e.g., SSA presentation, bread presentation, wine service, horseradish/cheese grating, dessert presentation).
Responsible for the complete service of the table.
Maintains a constant flow of soiled dishes to the kitchen and clean supplies to the dining room.
Meticulously cleans and resets dining room tables and booths during and after meal.
Has the ability to use the POS efficiently.
Must be proficient in multi tasking and managing designated stations.
Must comply with opening and closing as well as running side work necessities.
Direct and consistent communication with the culinary and management team.
Processes guest’s checks and submits closing paperwork in a timely manner.
Listens to and resolves customer complaints regarding service, product and personnel.
Must effectively delegate service responsibilities to the assisting staff. Eg. Bussers
Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Able to read, write and speak verbally in English. Excellent communication skills and familiarity with the hospitality industry. Ability to establish and maintain an effective relationship with all department management, staff, personnel and general public.
Education/Experience: High school or equivalent. One year or more of service in a fine dining outlet.
Reporting Relationship:
This position reports to the Restaurant Managers & Director of Food & Beverage
Exemption Status:
Non-Exempt.

From the standpoint of ingredients and preparation of the dishes to the delivery and service expected to accompany the dish.\\r\\n\\tDelivers all required Service Accents to the guest (e.g., SSA presentation, bread presentation, wine service, horseradish/cheese grating, dessert presentation).\\r\\n\\tResponsible for the complete service of the table.\\r\\n\\tMaintains a constant flow of soiled dishes to the kitchen and clean supplies to the dining room.\\r\\n\\tMeticulously cleans and resets dining room tables and booths during and after meal.\\r\\n\\tHas the ability to use the POS efficiently.\\r\\n\\tMust be proficient in multi tasking and managing designated stations.\\r\\n\\tMust comply with opening and closing as well as running side work necessities.\\r\\n\\tDirect and consistent communication with the culinary and management team.\\r\\n\\tProcesses guest’s checks and submits closing paperwork in a timely manner.\\r\\n\\tListens to and resolves customer complaints regarding service, product and personnel.\\r\\n\\tMust effectively delegate service responsibilities to the assisting staff. Eg.
