The facility manager is the on-shift supervisor and is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of the Sonnentag Center. The facility supervisor will direct all part-time staff on-shift, provide customer service, enforce policies, and coordinate emergency response.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position will work on-site at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Sonnentag Center, a major athletic, recreation, and event center. The new Sonnentag Center will serve as a venue for university and community events, concerts, and home to Eau Claire Men’s and Women’s Athletics.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Essential Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide on-shift supervision of and feedback to part-time staff on job performance and assign work</li>\n <li>Perform routine facility rounds throughout shift for supervision of student staff, troubleshooting and maintaining cleanliness of the equipment and facility</li>\n <li>Assist with set-ups and breakdowns for all facility reservations and events</li>\n <li>Respond to all medical and non-medical emergencies and provide care; initiate emergency action plan, notify university and local authorities and complete reports</li>\n <li>Assist part-time staff with tasks and assume responsibilities of an area if not staffed; process sales as needed</li>\n <li>Communicate and consistently enforce policies with patrons and staff</li>\n <li>Provide excellent customer service, facility tours, and resolve guest concerns</li>\n <li>Report injuries, incidents, member and guest issues maintenance issues, and staff issues</li>\n <li>Prepare facility areas for programs and events</li>\n <li>Restock consumable supplies and amenities as needed</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong><u>Education and Experience</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or equivalent</li>\n <li>Previous work experience preferred</li>\n <li>Experience working in fitness center, retail or events preferred</li>\n <li>Current CPR, First Aid, AED certification or ability to obtain</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and Abilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to work independently</li>\n <li>Ability to lead a team</li>\n <li>Ability to make sound decisions</li>\n <li>Excellent communication skills including active listening</li>\n <li>Service-oriented and able to resolve customer grievances</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of computer skills with the ability to learn new software</li>\n <li>Ability and willingness to enforce policies</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Work Environment and Physical Demands</h2>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Office environment/fitness center environment</li>\n <li>Moderate to loud noise</li>\n <li>Non-smoking environment</li>\n <li>Maintain flexible hours</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Walking or working in fitness center 95% of the work day</li>\n <li>Must be able to traverse throughout the building and campus.
