    "description": "<h2>Job Summary-</h2>\n<p><em><strong>**The hourly rate for this position is $28.64/hour** </strong></em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, is seeking a Plater #2  to join our Saco Operations team. We are about supporting the mission of the warfighter. Our products can be found with every U.S. Military branch with allies around the world. We are looking for motivated and creative individuals who want to help shape and support this organization.</p>\n<p>Sets up and operates Chrome Plating and Electropolishing equipment to coat or remove metal electrolytically to provide a hard wear resistant finish on internal and external surfaces.  Monitors plating operations with emphasis on correct voltage, amperage and time cycles.  Processes parts using various acid and alkaline solutions.  Follows established company directives, policies, military specifications, and process sheet operations, and instructions.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities-</h2>\n<p>Places or fastens metal objects to be plated to hooks, racks or containers and performs various plating applications.  Insure proper fill level of all process solutions.  Checks solution temperatures and adjusts as necessary.    Clean all connections and contact points to insure proper electrical conductivity.  Removes plated objects from solutions as periodic intervals to insure conformance to specifications. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Collects and labels samples of plating solutions for laboratory analysis.  Monitor certification programs and print necessary certifications for all plated parts.  Acquire lab certification on parts that meet specifications and take necessary steps to correct parts that are out of specification.  Inspect components at end of processes to determine thickness of metal deposits.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Decants and recharges solution tanks using pumping equipment.  Cleans scrubber systems on a scheduled basis to include use of hot water, disassemble of scrubbers, visual inspections, etc; and, must be conscious of scrubber system serviceability.   Maintains plating process tanks and equipment as required, including cleaning and contacts serviceability of leads and connections, evaluations of tank plumbing, electrical, etc.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Safety and good housekeeping policies and procedures must be followed.  Follow PPE requirements and controls, including guidelines for personal hygiene, to help eliminate the spread of cross-contamination throughout the facility.  Must be constantly aware of hazards associated with assigned chemical and plating processes; including chromic acid fumes.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications-</h2>\n<p><strong>ABILITIES</strong></p>\n<p>Able to use precision measuring instruments, hand gauges, and CAG’s to complete required inspections.</p>\n<p>Must be capable of working to tolerances as precise as one ten thousandth of an inch. Able to lift 35 pounds frequently and 50 pounds on occasion.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>SKILLS</strong>  No supervision required as to the mechanics of the job.  Employee must have basic computer skills, and may be required to enter and verify information into written forms or database(s) as appropriate.  Able to perform all tasks and duties of Plater #3 position including operation of gritblast and vacuhone machines.  May be required to perform other duties as required by supervision as directed.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION</strong></p>\n<p>High school diploma or G.E.D. required.  </p>",
