    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Supply Chain at Appalachian Regional Healthcare is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the supply chain operations, including procurement, distribution/logistics, central warehouse management, laundry services, strategic sourcing, and value analysis. This position ensures efficient and cost-effective supply chain practices that support the healthcare system's mission of providing exceptional patient care.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The AVP of Supply Chain will:</p>\n<p>· Develop policies and cost containment strategies to standardize and streamline supply chain operations, creating value for our patients, providers and ARH</p>\n<p>· Implements continuous supply chain improvement efforts across the system</p>\n<p>· Successfully, integrates supply chain services in alignment with enterprise strategy, mission, vision and values</p>\n<p>· Assist in developing measurable system and departmental goals, objectives, performance standards, in alignment with enterprise priorities.</p>\n<p>· Develop and foster strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders</p>\n<p>· Meet with end-users regularly to troubleshoot issues, provide ongoing operational support and to determine future needs</p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities Procurement</p>\n<p>· Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.</p>\n<p>· Negotiate contracts with suppliers, strategic partners and service providers to secure favorable terms, and value with industry-best pricing.</p>\n<p>· Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors, suppliers and strategic partners including quarterly business reviews with key partners.</p>\n<p>· Monitor and assess supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, quality standards and vendor registration policy.</p>\n<p>· Work closely with all key stakeholders to ensure availability of product for all key stakeholders.</p>\n<p>Strategic Sourcing</p>\n<p>· Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives to identify and capitalize on cost-saving opportunities.</p>\n<p>· Manages relationship with Group Purchasing Organization (GPO)</p>\n<p>· Conduct market research and analysis to identify new suppliers and alternative sourcing options.</p>\n<p>· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sourcing strategies with overarching organizational goals and objectives.</p>\n<p>· Utilizes tools and technologies (benchmarking, GPO tools, etc.) to ensure contracts offer maximum value for the organization; renegotiate and drive change as necessary.</p>\n<p>Value Analysis</p>\n<p>· Establish value analysis strategy, team, policy and related processes</p>\n<p>· Lead value analysis initiatives to evaluate, standardize and optimize the cost-effectiveness of products and services used within the healthcare system.</p>\n<p>· Collaborate with clinical and operational stakeholders to assess the value and impact of supply chain decisions on patient care and outcomes.</p>\n<p>· Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance supply chain performance and value delivery. This could include LEAN, Kaizen, and Utilization enhancements.</p>\n<p>Logistics</p>\n<p>· Oversee the planning and coordination of logistics operations to ensure efficient and timely delivery of supplies, laundry and equipment.</p>\n<p>· Manage courier service, transportation and distribution networks to optimize supply chain efficiency.</p>\n<p>· Implement best practices for inventory management, including demand forecasting, stock replenishment, and inventory controls.</p>\n<p>Central Warehouse Management</p>\n<p>· Lead the operations of the central warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory, efficient storage, handling, and distribution of inventory ina timely manner.</p>\n<p>· Implement warehouse management systems and processes to enhance distribution, productivity and inventory accuracy.</p>\n<p>· Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory standards within the warehouse.</p>\n<p>Laundry Services</p>\n<p>· Oversee the management of laundry services for the system, ensuring efficient processing and delivery of linens.</p>\n<p>· Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.</p>\n<p>· Monitor and optimize laundry operations to achieve cost savings and optimal operational efficiencies.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>· Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).</p>\n<p>· Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within the healthcare industry.</p>\n<p>· Proven track record of leadership and successful management of supply chain functions.</p>\n<p>· Strong negotiations, analytical, and problem-solving skills.</p>\n<p>· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across large health systems with diverse stakeholders.</p>\n<p>· Proficiency in supply chain management software and technologies.</p>\n<p>· Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize and multi-task</p>\n<p>· Professional Memberships preferred (AHRMM, HFMA, ACHE, etc)</p>",
