You'll innovate in architecting reimagined but compliant resilient communication systems that maintain connectivity in the world's most challenging environments.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>US Citizens Only</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Former US Defense Contractor / US Gov / US Military Experience Only  </p>\n<p>This is a Hybrid Position - Remote mainly - but as well on call to come into a MAG office when requested</p>\n<p>We are seeking candidates who live in proximity to our corporate HQ in Fairfax, VA primarily but will entertain persons living near our satellite offices in:</p>\n<p>Aberdeen, MD - Titusville, FL - Newport News, VA - Carthage NC</p>\n<h2>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong> include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p>\n<h4><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong></h4>\n<ul>\n <li>Design and implement tactical mesh networks for DDIL environments</li>\n <li>Develop multi-path routing protocols for resilient communications</li>\n <li>Implement software-defined networking (SDN) solutions</li>\n <li>Configure and optimize diverse communication channels (satellite, RF, cellular)</li>\n <li>Design quality of service (QoS) for degraded network conditions</li>\n <li>Implement store-and-forward architectures for intermittent connectivity</li>\n <li>Develop network monitoring and diagnostic tools</li>\n</ul>\n<h4><strong>Secondary Responsibilities</strong></h4>\n<ul>\n <li>Implement network security controls (encryption, authentication, segmentation)</li>\n <li>Design and configure firewall rules and intrusion detection</li>\n <li>Perform network vulnerability assessments</li>\n <li>Implement zero-trust network architectures</li>\n <li>Support cybersecurity compliance requirements</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Requirements</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Experience:</strong></p>\n<h4><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></h4>\n<ul>\n <li>5+ years network engineering experience</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, and multicast protocols</li>\n <li>Experience with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, OLSR)</li>\n <li>Hands-on experience with mesh networking technologies</li>\n <li>Proficiency with network security (IPSec, VPNs, TLS)</li>\n <li>Experience with software-defined networking (SDN/NFV)</li>\n <li>Familiarity with RF communications and spectrum management</li>\n <li>Understanding of satellite communications (VSAT, LEO constellations)</li>\n <li>Experience with network simulation and modeling tools</li>\n</ul>\n<h4><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></h4>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with military tactical networks</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs)</li>\n <li>Familiarity with cognitive radio and dynamic spectrum access</li>\n <li>Experience with network automation tools and principles (e.g., Ansible, Python, Infrastructure-as-Code)</li>\n <li>Familiarity with DISA STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) or similar DoD/IC security hardening standards</li>\n <li>Experience with TAK servers and Cursor on Target (CoT)</li>\n <li>Understanding of CSfC requirements</li>\n <li>Amateur radio license</li>\n <li>Experience with underwater acoustic networks</li>\n <li>CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certification</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Education:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Clearance:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be eligible for Secret security clearance</li>\n <li>US Citizenship required</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Special Note</h2>\n<p><strong>What Makes You Successful Here</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>You assume every network will fail and design accordingly</li>\n <li>You can optimize protocols for 2400 baud or 10 Gbps</li>\n <li>You understand both the theory and practical reality of RF propagation</li>\n <li>You can explain complex networking to operators simply</li>\n <li>You see security as integral to network design, not an add-on</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Why Join MAG:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work on meaningful problems that directly impact national security</li>\n <li>Small, elite team where your contributions matter immediately</li>\n <li>Access to cutting-edge hardware and technologies</li>\n <li>Rapid prototyping environment - see your ideas deployed in weeks</li>\n <li>Direct interaction with end users and field deployments</li>\n <li>Professional development and conference attendance support</li>\n <li>Flexible work arrangements with occasional field exercises</li>\n <li>Opportunity to shape the future of tactical edge computing</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Benefits and Compensation</h2>At MAG Aerospace, we value your contributions providing our employees with a robust Total Rewards package that supports your total well-being.
