Some of the industries served include plastics, laser, heat treating, food processing, machine tool, plating, anodizing, chemical, die casting, optical coating, and printing.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Role - Environmental, Health and Safety Technician&nbsp;</strong></p><p><br></p><p>The EHS Technician <strong>supports the operations department.</strong> The role combines administrative duties for an organization’s environmental health &amp; safety program with technical writing, cross-functional communication, and workflow optimization to support both internal teams and external customers to ensure compliance with local, state &amp; federal standards. This position will report to Quality / EHS and is located in Niles, Illinois.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Lead cross-functional teams involving production resources to comply with OSHA guidelines</li><li>Work across multiple brands to create, update and implement new safety policies, procedures, etc.</li><li>Inspect site to identify environmental, chemical &amp; health hazards and assess risk to ensure proper controls are in place to mitigate impacts on the company and our surrounding communities</li><li>Maintain SDS library</li><li>Conduct safety meetings, Shop Safety Training, review safety policies as necessary</li><li>Maintain safety incident, near miss reporting</li><li>Perform safety audits for both office &amp; manufacturing warehouse, crane inspections, chain inspections, etc.</li><li>Initiate and drive projects to improve safety</li><li>Preemptively identifies environmental concerns and hazards and develops action plans to mitigate the risk</li><li>Correct unsafe acts or conditions through regular line of authority</li><li>May exercise emergency authority to prevent or stop unsafe acts when immediate action is required</li><li>Conduct annual inspections of harness, slings, lanyards and retractable</li><li>Install OSHA Compliant systems / procedure to address known shortcomings</li><li>Prepare and maintain documentation for compliance for both organization and regulatory standards</li><li>Confirm evacuation Rosters are maintained along with evacuation equipment</li><li>Effectively work within a team and across all departments</li><li>Ability to read and understand blueprints</li><li>Work with minimal supervision and maximum self-motivation</li><li>Provide environmental support to all areas of the company and for regulatory compliance</li><li>Conduct Job Hazard Analysis</li><li>Advise and instruct on various safety related topics (noise levels, Haz mat ’l storage, etc.)</li><li>Responds to Employee’s safety concerns</li><li>Arrange for OSHA mandated testing and / or evaluations of the workplace by external agencies</li><li>Identify, document, and recommend resolutions to hazardous or potentially hazardous situations</li><li>Trains &amp; educate employees on environmental impacts, regulatory compliance &amp; best practices</li></ul>",
