Description
Job Summary
Come work as a General Practitioner Oncologist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!
Squamish General Hospital is looking for a dedicated part-time GP-Oncologist to join our collaborative team. While the role is currently a 0.2 FTE (approximately 12 hours per week for 26 weeks per year), we expect it to grow as we expand our clinic's treatment capacity.
As a member of our team, you’ll work closely with medical oncologists, other specialists, nurses, and clerical staff. Your responsibilities will include ambulatory care for patients undergoing therapy and those in follow-up, as well as supporting inpatient care. This involves reviewing and writing chemotherapy orders and managing patients with adverse reactions or treatment-related side effects.
Our local oncology clinic is conveniently located within the hospital, requiring hospital privileges. You'll benefit from existing MOA and oncology nursing support, and dedicated office space for patient reviews.
Squamish General Hospital is a 25-bed acute care facility offering medical/surgical services, supported by comprehensive diagnostic laboratory and imaging departments, as well as physiotherapy and social work services. We provide emergency, ambulatory, inpatient, maternity, anesthetic, and general surgery care. Our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) serves two busy operating rooms, with surgical services including general surgery, gynecology, endoscopy, plastics, orthopedic, ENT, dental, and urology.
Squamish is a vibrant, family-friendly community nestled north of Vancouver at the tip of the Howe Sound. This spectacular setting, featuring rugged landscapes and stunning vistas like the magnificent Stawamus Chief and Shannon Falls, offers an unparalleled mountain lifestyle. You'll find world-class trails, rock-climbing, backcountry adventures, consistent wind for water sports, a mild year-round climate, and diverse educational options from elementary to university levels. Expand your healthcare profession in Squamish—a truly wonderful place to live, work, and play!
