Hillel of Colorado - Colorado School of Mines Hillel and Auraria Hillel
Overview
Hillel of Colorado is seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven professional to work in a metro-Denver Hillel team t o assure solid programming and engage students at both the Golden, CO Colorado School of Mines and downtown Denver Auraria campuses. This full-time role will focus on building meaningful student relationships, creating engaging Jewish experiences, and building vibrant campus communities across two unique campus environments.
Approximately two-thirds of this role will focus on Colorado School of Mines, where the professional will help continue the rapid growth of Jewish life through student engagement, Shabbat and holiday programming, leadership development, and campus relationship-building. The remaining one-third of the role will support Auraria Hillel through strategic engagement and program implementation in partnership with the Auraria Hillel Director.
Working closely with students and professional staff, this person will help shape a pluralistic, welcoming, and entrepreneurial Jewish community experience across both campuses. This role is for someone who is energized by relationship-building, enjoys working in a fast-paced and evolving environment, and is excited to help students create meaningful Jewish community during college. Our Hillel, now with four staffed campuses, is one of over 500+ North American affiliates of Hillel International and an independent 501(c)3, is a multi-campus Jewish student engagement organization that strengthens college students’ connections to Jewish life by providing programs and engagement opportunities in our warm, welcoming homes-away-from-home for 2,500+ Jewish college students and their friends in Colorado.

What You’ll Do
Student Engagement & Relationship Building
Build meaningful one-on-one relationships with Jewish students across both campuses through coffee chats, tabling, pop-ups, small groups, and campus presence.
Conduct regular student outreach and engagement efforts through text, GroupMe, social media, and in-person interactions.
Develop strategies to connect new students into Jewish life, with a particular focus on sustained relationship-building and leadership development.
Serve as a visible and welcoming Jewish presence on campus.
Colorado School of Mines Responsibilities (Approximately 2/3 of Role)
Recruit, mentor, and partner closely with Mines student leaders to strengthen and grow a sustainable student-led Hillel community.
Serve as point for 1-1 and small group recruitment of potential Hillel students and grow engagement metrics
Support the planning and execution of Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, learning opportunities, and social programming.
Continue to cultivate relationships with campus faculty, staff, and university partners to increase visibility and support for Jewish student life at Mines.
Auraria Responsibilities (Approximately 1/3 of Role)
Partner with Auraria Hillel Director to develop and implement a robust student engagement strategy for Auraria Hillel to continue to grow in student numbers.
Support and execute engagement initiatives, relationship-building efforts, and campus programming that strengthen Jewish community across the Auraria campus.
Assist in building consistent student touchpoints and scalable engagement systems within a commuter-campus environment.
Team & Organizational Responsibilities
Engage students on two campuses through one-on-one meetings, small groups, tabling, pop-ups and other planned events.
Ensure the planning and execution of Shabbat, holiday, learning, and social programs that are consistent, meaningful, and student -driven
Maintain consistent engagement with the Mines and Auraria Hillel community through GroupMe communication and/or text outreach
Collaborate with the student leaders to identify and cultivate Hillel students, increasing the number of those who participate in Hillel events on campus
Work closely with your supervisor and Hillel of Colorado Associate Director (AD) to develop and implement strategies that engage a diverse and pluralistic Hillel population
Collaborate with a dynamic 6-person team (supervised by our AD) responsible for Jewish life across our four campuses
Support development of student leaders who take ownership of their own community and aspects of Hillel programming
Assist us in connecting Hillel student families to our mission
Represent Hillel of Colorado’s values on campus and in the community as you cultivate a spirit of open and pluralistic Jewish life on the campus
Serve as a key connector between Hillel and campus faculty, staff, and partners to increase visibility and support for Jewish student life
What You’ve Accomplished
1-3 years of work experience is required. Related life experience and previous connection to a nonprofit or mission-driven organization is a plus.

About Hillel of Colorado
Hillel of Colorado inspires Jewish students to cultivate a lifelong connection to Jewish life, learning, and Israel. As an independent 501(c)3 affiliated with Hillel International, it serves over 2,500 Jewish students across metro-Denver and northern Colorado, providing a welcoming, pluralistic community. With hubs at the University of Denver (DU) and Colorado State University (CSU), as well as a newly established presence at Denver’s Auraria Campus, Hillel fosters student leadership, Jewish learning, and social engagement. Programs include Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, and campus-wide events, offering students meaningful opportunities to connect with their heritage and peers. Colorado School of Mines is our newest campus, which in 2025 added the first ever part time staff member in Golden, CO.
At DU, Hillel engages more than 400 students annually, with weekly events and large holiday gatherings, while at CSU, participation has grown to over 300 students per year. Shabbat dinners attract 30-60 students on average, with major events drawing up to 200 attendees. In it's very first year, Mines Hillel saw well over 100 students join in Hillel programming. CSU Hillel’s large-scale programs, such as Holocaust remembrance events and interfaith gatherings, engage more than 1,000 students. Hillel continues to expand its reach, ensuring Jewish students across Colorado’s campuses have a vibrant, supportive community that enhances their college experience and strengthens their Jewish identity.
