Safety, technical excellence, and exceptional client service are at the core of everything we do.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>If it’s part of the electrical power system, Shermco has the expertise to support it.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>The Opportunity</strong>Shermco Canada is seeking an experienced <strong>Electrical Power Systems Engineer</strong> (P.Eng.) to join our growing Saskatchewan engineering team.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead and contribute to the design, analysis, and optimization of electrical power systems for a diverse client base. You will be based out of our Saskatoon or Regina office, with flexibility for remote or hybrid work for candidates located within Saskatchewan.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineering staff</li>\n <li>Plan, manage, and execute electrical engineering projects across industrial and utility sectors</li>\n <li>Perform power system analysis and design, including both new installations and system upgrades</li>\n <li>Design and integrate protective relaying systems (SEL, GE, Siemens, Schneider, or similar platforms)</li>\n <li>Support substation automation solutions, including RTUs, HMIs, communications, and control systems</li>\n <li>Conduct electrical studies such as:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Short-circuit and coordination studies</li>\n   <li>Arc-flash hazard analysis</li>\n   <li>Load flow, grounding, and harmonic studies</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Create, review, and approve electrical drawing packages, including:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Single-line and three-line diagrams</li>\n   <li>Schematics, wiring diagrams, and general arrangements</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Design and modify electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, MCCs, transformers, CTs/PTs, protective devices, relays, and controls</li>\n <li>Troubleshoot electrical system issues and develop practical, client-focused solutions</li>\n <li>Support field services teams during maintenance, commissioning, and site activities as needed</li>\n <li>Perform onsite inspections and technical data collection</li>\n <li>Contribute to proposal development, estimates, and technical input for client engagements</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering</li>\n <li>Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Saskatchewan</li>\n <li>6+ years of overall experience, including a minimum of 3+ years of experience obtained after earning P.Eng. designation, in relevant power systems engineering.</li>\n <li>Experience with power system analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, EasyPower) is an asset</li>\n <li>Familiarity with protection relays and substation/automation systems is an asset</li>\n <li>Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications</li>\n <li>Willingness to travel occasionally for fieldwork</li>\n <li>Strong communication and problem-solving skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Why Join Shermco?</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work on technically challenging and meaningful power systems projects</li>\n <li>Collaborate with experienced engineers and technical specialists</li>\n <li>Opportunities for professional growth and leadership development</li>\n <li>Supportive team environment with a strong safety culture</li>\n <li>Flexible work arrangements may be considered based on role and location</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Equal Opportunity & AccessibilityShermco Canada is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.
