Description
Job Summary The overall purpose of this position is to support education product development across IEEE by proactively managing a portfolio of education products that drive revenue for IEEE along with consistent value for our members and customers. This role works with IEEE education volunteers and staff to facilitate the development of education products and programs and provides strategic leadership for the IEEE Credentialing Program. Key activities for this role include analysis of customer behaviors, market opportunities, and competitive products, salesforce enablement and training, managing the development, launch, and lifecycle of education products, and the tracking and analysis of business analytics. He/She works cross-functionally to define the product roadmap, identifies and supports partners and volunteers, and project manages the overall production process. The incumbent is a growth-focused team player who has demonstrated abilities in business planning and analytics, product management, growth strategies, and revenue generation.
The role reports to the Sr. Director, Continuing Education and Workforce Development, and leads a staff of two or more employees.
Key Responsibilities
60% Product Management
Collaborates with IEEE Volunteers, Staff, and other Stakeholders to facilitate the creation and curation of high-quality education products and services. Conducts business and market analysis to select market-relevant continuing education product topics in collaboration with the Sr. Director, Continuing Education and Workforce Development. Negotiates and establishes contracts with subject matter experts, IEEE Societies, vendors, or others that will be involved in the creation of assigned products. Creates and maintains product development project plans for each assigned product from product conception to release. Manages and collaborates closely with subject matter experts, internal and external employee and volunteer stakeholders, Marketing, Instructional Design and Production, and others to ensure realistic development timelines are created and deadlines are met. Serves as the voice for the customer, ensuring that products are developed with the end user in mind and that take into account current learning trends and customer feedback. Ensures that IEEE education product quality standards are met in all products released. Manages the setup of products within IEEE systems. Provides product training to sales, marketing, and customers as needed. Assists in the creation of marketing collateral to support product sales. Stays abreast of the continuing education market to identify market trends and development techniques. Plans, directs, and coordinates product introductions to the marketplace in collaboration with marketing and sales. Tracks product financials, determining product health and ensuring that partner payouts are made in a timely manner. Uses AI to streamline workflows. Collaborates with 3rd party partners to identify and bring to market products that complement the IEEE professional education portfolio, including negotiation of terms, contracting, procurement, partner payouts, and stakeholder engagement. Regularly analyzes product performance and makes recommendations for improvement, growth, or sunsetting of products within the portfolio. Regularly provides reports on product performance metrics to key stakeholders throughout the organization. 30% Credentialing Program Leadership
Provides strategic leadership for the growth of the IEEE Credentialing Program. Ensures the program aligns with current credentialing standards and market trends. Represents the IEEE Credentialing Program at conferences, events, webinars, and member meetings with the goal of increasing thought leadership and bringing on new providers. Supports marketing efforts for the IEEE Credentialing Program, including maintenance of the program website. Participates in sales conversations with the goal of bringing on new credentialing providers. Grows the revenue of the program. Serves as a subject matter expert on workforce development, professional credentialing, and non-degree credentials. Collaborates with the IEEE Credentialing Committee, ensuring committee members have the resources they need to review applications and fulfill their responsibilities effectively. Manages staff and consultants engaged in supporting the IEEE Credentialing Program. Coordinates with technology vendors that provide platforms used to support the IEEE Credentialing Program, along with internal IT resources. Manages contracts as needed to support the IEEE Credentialing Program. 10% Staff and Volunteer Management
Leads a small team of product and program managers (both staff and consultants) to achieve program and revenue goals. Sets goals and conducts annual performance reviews.
