Emerald Youth has engaged more than 30,000 children and young adults in a variety of community programs over nearly three decades. Every year, Emerald Youth serves more than 3,000 children, teens and young adults in the heart of Knoxville through faith, learning and health programs.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\">JOB SUMMARY:</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for participants in Emerald Youth Sports Learn to Swim Program.  Assists with curriculum and instruction of classes for elementary and middle school age participants. To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Schedule/Pay</span></span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: bold;\">Pay is set at $13.50/hr with experience.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: bold;\">School Year Schedule:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: bold;\">School year hours are 3:00-8:30pm during the week (Monday-Friday) and some weekends during the day.</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: bold;\">Summer Schedule:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: bold;\"> During the summer hours are between 9:30am - 5:30pm or 8:00pm, flexible hours.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\">ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Instructs swim lessons in accordance with Emerald Youth Sports Learn to Swim Program Curriculum.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Develops positive relationships with participants and families, encouraging parent involvement.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Provides motivational support and guidance to encourage new or inexperienced swimmers.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Encourages participants to overcome any fears and feel comfortable submersed in water.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Covers basic water safety skills and instruction.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Identifies and recruits potential volunteers.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Maintains required records</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Constant surveillance of pool area to ensure safety.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Assists with pool and pool area upkeep and cleanliness, i.e., monitoring pool area, organizing equipment, reports damages.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Trains and supervises volunteers as needed.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Completes accident and incident reports as needed</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Attends meetings and other general duties required by supervisor.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\">QUALIFICATIONS:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Dedicated Christian with clear knowledge of the Gospel and a passion for the mission of Emerald Youth Foundation; connected to a church community; possesses a strong reputation for honesty, integrity, and high moral standards.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Red Cross Certified-Water Safety Instructor preferred.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Must be able to swim.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">CPR, First Aid Certification preferred (will train if needed and sessions are available).</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;
