This role combines leadership and technical expertise to ensure accurate, timely, and competitive bids while supporting the department’s processes, goals, and key performance indicators (KPIs). The Lead Estimator plays a critical role in understanding client needs and delivering tailored roofing solutions that build trust, confidence, and long-term relationships, while maintaining accountability for both individual and departmental performance.</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Leadership &amp; Management</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee daily coordination of the estimating department, including assigning and reviewing workloads.</li>\n<li>Provide guidance and mentorship to estimators while maintaining personal estimating responsibilities.</li>\n<li>Assist in developing departmental goals, objectives, and KPIs, monitor progress, and share results with management.</li>\n<li>Promote best practices, consistency, and continuous improvement within the estimating function.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with senior leadership to align estimating efforts with company objectives.</li>\n<li>Serve as a technical leader and mentor to the estimating team, providing guidance on plans and specs review, new construction estimating methodologies, and documentation standards.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Client Engagement</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Actively listen to clients to identify their needs and propose effective solutions.</li>\n<li>Establish and maintain trust and rapport with prospective and existing clients.</li>\n<li>Qualify prospects to confirm authority and ability to make purchasing decisions.</li>\n<li>Clearly communicate Radco’s services, capabilities, and areas of expertise.</li>\n<li>Maintain a consistent prospecting process to build and sustain a strong project pipeline.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Documentation &amp; Reporting</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accurately maintain all required information within the CRM system for reporting and documentation purposes.</li>\n<li>Review and approve estimates and proposals prepared by the team before submission to clients.</li>\n<li>Obtain management approval prior to delivering final proposals to clients.</li>\n<li>Ensure all technical documentation are complete, accurate, and compliant with contract documents and project specifications.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Estimating &amp; Project Preparation</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare detailed cost estimates for new construction commercial roofing projects, with a strong emphasis on plans and specifications based bidding.</li>\n<li>Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to identify requirements, risks, and opportunities.</li>\n<li>Perform comprehensive reviews of architectural and structural drawings specifications, addenda, and bid documents to ensure full scope coverage, accuracy and compliance.</li>\n<li>Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure competitiveness.</li>\n<li>Ensure estimates are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.</li>\n<li>Prepare and submit complete turnover packages for Operations, including all contract documents, vendor quotes, manufacturer pre-installation notices, submittals, and change orders.</li>\n<li>Produce required submittals and ensure all documentation meets project specifications and client requirements.</li>\n<li>Maintain current knowledge of market conditions, material pricing, and industry trends.</li>\n<li>Conduct periodic site visits to monitor project progress.</li>\n<li>Perform final client meetings to deliver warranties and promote maintenance agreements for completed projects.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Process Improvement</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and implement standardized estimating procedures, templates, and tools.</li>\n<li>Monitor and analyze bid outcomes to refine accuracy and competitiveness.</li>\n<li>Introduce technology and software solutions that enhance departmental efficiency.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>7+ years of estimating experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead role.</li>\n<li>Extensive background in commercial roofing with demonstrated experience estimating new construction projects based on plans and specifications.</li>\n<li>Proven ability to balance personal estimating responsibilities with providing guidance and coordination for a small team.</li>\n<li>Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office Suite;
