    "description_html": "<p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Electric Machinery Company, a division of WEG Electric Corp.</strong></p><p><strong>Minneapolis, MN</strong></p><p><strong>Position: Service Design Drafter</strong></p><p>Department: Service</p><p><u><strong>Primary Objective of the Position:</strong></u></p><p>The Design Drafter will create and maintain designs, layouts, drawings, and documentation required for product lines, which include motors, generators and magnetic drives. Design Drafters adhere to both internal and internationals standards, as well as applicable specifications in order to achieve satisfactory product performance. Product lines contain both standard and custom designs with high engineering content. Also support customer orders from the proposal phase thru the design, development, manufacturing, testing, and field service/aftermarket phases. The Design Drafter will be responsible for collaboration and sharing of best design practices within the WEG Company</p><p><u><strong>Major Areas of Accountability:</strong></u></p><ul><li><strong>Engineering Work</strong>: Must be an enthusiastic self starter, able to organize and pursue broad objectives, and have the ability to manage multiple, changing priorities. Performs assigned drafting tasks under supervision, including creating 2D drawings and 3D models from sketches, layouts, creating bill of materials, or marked-up prints. Ensures drawings are accurate, clear, and meet established drafting standards.</li><li><strong>Communication:</strong> Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, on technical and issues. Demonstrated sense of urgency.</li><li><strong>Quality &amp; Accuracy</strong>: Reviews own work carefully to minimize errors. Learns to identify drafting issues and escalate concerns to senior drafters or engineers.</li><li><strong>Software &amp; Technical Programs</strong>: Computer literate, with knowledge of current operating systems and software.</li><li><strong>Project Oversight</strong>: Determine project schedules to complete projects in required time.</li><li><strong>Cross-Functional Support</strong>:    <ul>      <li>Incorporate manufacturability input provided by Manufacturing Engineering, into designs.</li>      <li>Integrates serviceability input from Service Engineers to improve long-term product reliability and support.</li>      <li>Provides support to Marketing on inquiries and new orders to assure technical and economic feasibility.</li>    </ul></li><li><strong>Documentation</strong>: Create and maintain standards, designs, drawings, and specifications for quotations, products, and aftermarket. Responsible for record keeping of same.</li><li><strong>Collaboration</strong>: Works closely with senior drafters and engineers to understand project requirements. Accepts feedback and incorporates revisions into work. Resolve production problems and render technical and process assistance to shop.</li><li><strong>Additional Duties:</strong> Performs other related activities as assigned by the Sr. Team Members, Team Leader, or Manager of Engineering.</li><li><strong>Learning &amp; Development</strong>: Builds knowledge of company drafting practices, product designs, and applicable standards. Develops proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SAP) through training and guided practice. Demonstrates willingness to learn new skills, software, and drafting techniques. Participates in team improvement initiatives when requested.</li></ul><p><u><strong>Knowledge /Skills / Abilities:</strong></u></p><ul><li>2 years technical college, 2 years college pre-engineering, Drafting Certificate or equivalent</li><li>0 - 3 years’ experience building upon the Detail and Layout Drafter</li><li>Knowledge of documentation requirements of ISO 9001.</li><li>Knowledge and understanding of engineering operating systems within the department and understanding of how engineering interfaces with other departments.</li><li>Necessary present knowledge of current operating systems and software common to business applications (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project).</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing both internally &amp; with customers</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Physical ability to travel freely within manufacturing and office facilities.    <ul>      <li>This requires climbing stairs and moving over, around, and about shop machinery and in-process apparatus in a safe manner.</li>      <li>Physical ability to climb a ladder, use scaffolding or catwalks to service machinery.</li>      <li>Physical ability to lift and carry 25 pounds.</li>    </ul></li><li>Physical ability to travel via public, commercial or personal transportation.    <ul>      <li>Must possess an insurable driver’s license.</li>      <li>Must be able to travel internationally.</li>      <li>Must possess a valid Passport or be able to obtain a Passport.</li>    </ul></li></ul><p><strong>Salary Range:</strong></p><p><strong>$60,000 - $70,000</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Company cannot provide sponsorship for this position</strong></p><p><strong>Please, no agencies</strong></p>",
