We seek employees who bring different and innovative ways of seeing the world and solving problems.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Arimura Lab in the Basic Sciences Division at Fred Hutch is seeking a highly motivated <strong>Post-Doctoral Research Fellow</strong>. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in chromatin biology and prior research experience in the field.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Our lab investigates how chromatin-associated complexes alter their functions in a context-dependent manner, including during the cell cycle, cellular differentiation, and the DNA damage response. To uncover the structural basis of these regulatory mechanisms, we use cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM) to analyze native chromatin-associated complexes isolated from human cells or assembled in Xenopus (frog) egg extracts. By continuing to develop innovative approaches that enable structural determination of native chromatin-associated complexes, we aim to elucidate the structural foundations of key biological events on eukaryotic chromosomes.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Arimura Lab provides a supportive and collaborative environment that places a strong emphasis on individualized mentoring. Please include a summary of your past research experience and accomplishments, a description of the research you hope to pursue as a future independent investigator (PI), and how experience in our lab will help you achieve those goals.</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Conduct research aimed at elucidating the structural basis of biological events on eukaryotic chromosomes.</li>\n <li>Present research findings at group meetings and scientific conferences.</li>\n <li>Prepare manuscripts for publication.</li>\n <li>Provide mentorship to graduate students and research technicians.</li>\n <li>Contribute positively to the lab’s community, culture, and intellectual environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Other Expectations:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Treat all members of the lab and the broader Fred Hutch community with respect.</li>\n <li>Apply for postdoctoral fellowships and/or career development awards.</li>\n <li>Work collaboratively within the Arimura Lab as well as with other groups at Fred Hutch and external collaborators.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ph.D. degree in a relavant field (including those expecting to complete their degree soon).</li>\n <li>A strong publication record.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Background in chromatin biology.</li>\n <li>Background in Genomics.</li>\n <li>At least one first-author research article or preprint in chromatin biology (structural biology experience is not required).</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Cover letters are highly desired from applicants.
