    "requisitionDescription": "\n    <link href=\"https://static.workforcenow.adp.com/mas/mdf-components/22.15.19/styles/froala_editor.pkgd.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\" />\n    <link href=\"https://static.workforcenow.adp.com/mas/mdf-components/22.15.19/styles/froala_style.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\" />\n\n    <div class=\"fr-view\">\n      <p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>SUMMARY</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Working with customers and Astec employees, the technician ensures proper installation and operation of new or used hot mix asphalt plants and soil remediation plants to include products offered by Astec, Inc. and all of its sister companies, as well as products offered by other manufacturers relating to the HMA and aggregate industries. &nbsp;Consults with engineering to analyze and remedy problems and is instrumental in training customer employees in proper operational tasks for maximum/minimum plant efficiency.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><ul><li>Involved in and responsible for testing of new burner designs.</li><li>Involved in ensuring burner performance including heat output and emissions.</li><li>Participate in testing and setup of production burners prior to shipment.</li><li>Independently diagnoses and prescribes solutions to problems relating to burners.</li><li>Works independently or with Astec Service in diagnosing and solving problems.</li><li>Provides field service for problems on existing burners in limited circumstances.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Domestic and international travel.</li><li>Capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting data, blueprints, technical manuals and procedures, and government regulations.</li><li>Capable of writing effective reports, memos, and procedure manuals.</li><li>Proficient in presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, customers, and other company associates.</li><li>Ability to view and interpret drawings in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.</li><li>Skilled in Microsoft Office products.</li><li>Application of concepts in basic algebra and geometry.</li><li>Two year technical education, Associates Degree, or related experience with burners preferred.</li><li>Two years of experience in a shop manufacturing environment to include welding, electrical, and metal work preferred.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>REASONING ABILITY</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Ability to solve practical and complex problems relating to mechanical, electrical, and operational issues of asphalt plants and related equipment. &nbsp;Ability to deal with a variety of situations relating to job requirements, including dealing with irate customers.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</strong></p><p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
