Campus Organizer Job Description Posting Date:  Monday, March 23, 2026 Priority Application Deadline:   Friday, May 1, 2026 Email: [email protected] Division: Organizing Reports to: Organizing Manager About Us Mobilize. Organize. Vote. Empower. MOVE Texas was founded in 2013 as MOVE UTSA by a small group of dedicated students at The University of Texas at San Antonio to increase participation in local elections. Since then MOVE Texas has gone statewide to become one of the most effective voter registration and engagement groups for young people in the state . Our vision is to build the political power of young people to transform democracy in Texas and beyond. We are building the next generation of Texas leadership by teaching critical organizing skills to take them from voters to effective, lifelong organizers. Our theory of change is simple: develop new leaders, educate voters and create space for the changes we need to make so that our state can be a place where all Texans can thrive. Across our state, young people care deeply about the issues shaping our lives, and the chapter program is how we support people turning that energy into action. As MOVE Texas grows its chapter network, more people are stepping up to organize the youth movement both in their communities and on campuses across Texas. MOVE started as a student-led chapter on a single college campus, built on a simple idea: that if young people organize each other, we can change the future of Texas. That belief still guides us today. Position Description MOVE Texas is looking for fifteen (15) Campus Organizers to join our team to help build a MOVE Texas chapter on your campus. Campus Organizers are student leaders who are ready to bring people together, organize their peers to build and leverage collective power, and help shape the kind of future young Texans deserve in our communities and across our state. As a Campus Organizer, you’ll help strengthen your campus chapter while connecting to a statewide network of young people who are working together to shape the future of our state. Campus Organizers recruit and welcome new members, host events, develop local campaigns, and create spaces where young people can talk about the issues they care about, build community, and take action together. Program Details Program Term:  Academic Year (July - May) Start Date:  July 20th, 2026 Winter Break:  Programming pauses during winter break (December 6th - Jan. 3rd). End Date:  May 8th, 2027 Position Details: This is a part-time, temporary, stipend, non-exempt position, with a 5-6 hours per week commitment. Chapters may also have access to additional organizing resources and budgets to support events, outreach, and campaign activities. Campus Organizers receive a $250 bi-weekly stipend and  Chapters may also have access to additional organizing resources or budgets to support events, outreach, and campaign activities throughout the program. Location / Participation Format: This role is primarily campus-based, with regular in-person activities with chapter members and virtual meetings and coordination with MOVE Texas staff and other organizers across the state. Program Structure: Build MOVE Texas chapters on campuses by building a base of student members and organizing peers around civic engagement, issue advocacy, and youth leadership development. Training & Support: Receive ongoing mentorship, leadership development, and organizing training from MOVE Texas staff throughout the program. Statewide Network: Are part of a statewide network of chapters, sharing strategies, tools, and support with other young organizers across Texas. Campaign Engagement: Participate in MOVE Texas statewide campaigns, working with staff to apply statewide priorities, such as voter registration and issue advocacy, within their campus communities. Travel Expectations: New Campus Organizers are required to attend a program convening at the beginning of the program and a closing convening at the end of the year, where participants will present their capstone projects. Additional regional or statewide training, convenings, and organizing opportunities may be available throughout the year on a voluntary basis.  Any required out of region travel is minimal and expenses will be covered by MOVE Texas. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following: Lead organizing efforts for a MOVE Texas chapter on your campus by recruiting members, building relationships with students, and developing new leaders.
