With over 35,000 employees and 400 offices nationwide, we provide flexibility and career growth in dynamic work environments. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Preview projects and project sites before work begins to determine safety and environmental related risks.  </p></li>\n <li><p>Develops project site specific safety plan, EAP (Emergency Action Plan) and training for project sites. </p></li>\n <li><p>Visits active project sites to assess ongoing work conditions to ensure compliance with project site specific safety plans, and local, state and federal regulations. </p></li>\n <li><p>Documents unsafe work conditions, safety hazards and health hazards. </p></li>\n <li><p>Works with project management, site supervision and craft workers to develop and implement solutions to safety related findings on project sites. </p></li>\n <li><p>Determines corrective or preventative measures where necessary and follows up to ensure corrective and preventive measures are implemented.  </p></li>\n <li><p>Manages contractors’ safety programs and training; recommends changes as necessary for compliance. </p></li>\n <li><p>Audits orientation and annual safety training records for compliance.</p></li>\n <li><p>Conducts investigations of accidents and injuries through employee interviews, equipment inspections and site inspections, carefully reviewing the integrity of personal protective equipment, materials, and project site specific gear. </p></li>\n <li><p>Recommends appropriate disciplinary action when safe work practices and policies are violated by employees and subcontractors. </p></li>\n <li><p>Provides updates to the Project Manager, Director of Safety and Executive staff on a regular basis. </p></li>\n <li><p>Ensures all required records and reports are up to date, accurate and submitted to comply with all internal processes, local, state, and federal regulations. </p></li>\n <li><p>Ensures project sites have the appropriate safety equipment. </p></li>\n <li><p>Manages Safety Specialists at project sites where assigned. </p></li>\n <li><p>Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director of Safety. </p></li>\n</ul> \n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>5-7 years construction safety managerial experience in industrial and/or heavy civil experience or equivalent combination of training and related experience.  </p></li>\n <li><p>Experience and/or training in Excavation, Trenching, and Soil Mechanics preferred.  </p></li>\n <li><p>Knowledge of and experience with OSHA, MSHA  and EPA rules, regulations and reporting processes and procedures for construction and mine safety.  </p></li>\n <li>Ability to professionally represent the company when dealing with external organizations, regulatory bodies and with all organizational levels internally. </li>\n <li><p>Ability to communicate and train effectively. </p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  </p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to exercise good business judgment and common sense when making recommendations and decisions. </p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to multi-task and thrive in an environment where numerous tasks and projects are occurring simultaneously. </p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to meet deadlines in short time frames. </p></li>\n <li><p>Strong interpersonal skills: ability to interact and with all levels of the company at project sites and offices, and effectively deal with vendors, subcontractors, customers, and regulatory agencies. </p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. </p></li>\n</ul>\n<p>Supervisory Responsibilities: </p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Plans, organizes, and manages the work of the Safety Specialists to ensure the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational expectations and requirements. </p></li>\n <li><p>Provide guidance to team members and monitors their performance, discipline, and attendance on regular basis. </p></li>\n <li><p>Responsible for professional development of Safety Specialists. </p></li>\n <li><p>Communicates and acts with a team-oriented mentality.  </p></li>\n <li><p>Ensure positive morale and engagement of employees.  </p></li>\n <li><p>Communicates and adheres to Company vision and values. </p></li>\n <li><p>Assist in employee recruitment, performance management, promotions, retention, and termination activities. </p></li>\n</ul>\n<p>Work Environment:</p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>While performing the duties of this position, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions.
