Description

Maintenance Mechanic Reports To: Maintenance Supervision Brief Description: Perform preventive maintenance for optimum machine conditions and having the ability to learn activities associated with the extrusion process of thermoplastic materials in order to meet or exceed Primex's and the Customers Expectations. Work Expectations: Full-time, 40 hours/week some over time required, can be assigned to any shift, in a hot work environment, receiving two paid 10 minute breaks and one paid 20 minute lunch. Skill Requirements: Possess the ability to read, write and perform basic math functions. Be able to follow written and verbal instructions, making time efficient decisions; performing all these duties with little to no supervision. Be capable of taking corrective action on problems which may arise. The ability to troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry work using all related tools necessary for the job. The ability to use tape measure, micrometer, dial indicator, feeler gauge, calipers and amp/volt meter as well as using mig and stick welder and acetylene torch. Safety & Quality Requirements: Follow all safety and conduct rules at all times; always wearing the required PPE for the job. Keep work and surrounding areas clean and free of debris at all times. All employees are expected to work diligently to maintain safe and healthful working conditions and to adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injuries and illnesses. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time throughout the shift. Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach and perform repetitive movements. Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 – 100 lbs. as needed.
