Midwest Sports+ is part of Forum Communications Company, a 5th-generation, family-owned, Upper Midwest media company.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a full-time position that will be based out of Iowa City, Iowa - interested candidates should live within approximately a 60 mile radius of Iowa City, Iowa and be able to travel within the surrounding area on a consistent basis.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p><p>The Lead Sports Content Creator role combines live sports production with storytelling, social media content creation, and collaboration with freelance contributors.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p><ul><li>Live Game Production: Assist in the production of live sports broadcasts, including setup, camera operation, switching, and graphics integration.</li><li>Video Editing: Edit highlight packages, feature stories, and social-media-friendly clips for digital platforms.</li><li>Storytelling: Produce engaging sports stories and features that resonate with local and regional audiences.</li><li>Sales Support: Assist sales team in developing, closing, and fulfilling sales opportunities surrounding game and shoulder content.</li><li>Content Creation for Digital Platforms: Develop videos optimized for social media, web, and mobile consumption.</li><li>Collaboration with Freelancers: Coordinate with freelance videographers, photographers, and other content creators in Iowa to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery.</li><li>Cross-Platform Contribution: Work closely with the teams on special initiatives, promotional content, and other multimedia projects as needed.</li><li>Technical Maintenance: Ensure equipment is ready for live and recorded productions,</li><li>troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain organized media archives.</li><li>Team Support: Assist colleagues across the FCC network on video production and content</li><li>projects when needed.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Proven experience in video production and editing, preferably in sports or live event coverage.</li><li>Proficiency with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and live streaming tools.</li><li>Strong storytelling skills with an eye for compelling visuals.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.</li><li>Familiarity with social media platforms and creating platform-specific content.</li><li>Excellent organizational and communication skills.</li><li>Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for live sports coverage.</li><li>Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is insurable by the company.</li><li>Must carry an acceptable level of vehicle insurance as required by the company.</li></ul><p>Expected compensation for this role is between $55,000 and $65,000/year + potential for commission based on sales, based on qualifications and experience.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>ABOUT THE COMPANY</strong></p><p><strong>Forum Communications Company </strong>is a family-owned media and technology leader with more than a century of delivering trusted, quality journalism and innovative business solutions.
