In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Kitchen Attendant Helper</span></p>\n<p>The Kitchen Attendant Helper is task to support the catering team on a mine site. The role involves assisting with cleaning, basic food preparation, kitchen maintenance, and ensuring a safe and hygienic work environment. This position is crucial to maintaining smooth kitchen operations in a remote, high-volume catering environment.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks (e.g., washing, peeling, cutting ingredients).</li>\n<li>Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas including floors, surfaces, and storage</li>\n<li>Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using manual or automatic dishwashing</li>\n<li>Ensure proper storage of ingredients and supplies, following food safety</li>\n<li>Dispose of waste and recycling properly and</li>\n<li>Replenish kitchen supplies (e., napkins, utensils, condiments) as needed.</li>\n<li>Help with unpacking and storing food</li>\n<li>Follow all food hygiene and health &amp; safety procedures</li>\n<li>Support kitchen staff during busy service hours as directed.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications/Skills and Experience</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous experience in kitchen, cleaning, or hospitality roles is preferred</li>\n<li>Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices</li>\n<li>Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team environment</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Working Conditions</span></p>\n<p>Position based at the OKO Project site.<br>Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off<br>Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Compensation Package</span></p>\n<p>1-year contract for the construction period, with the possibility of a permanent position once the mine is in operation.<br>Competitive Salary<br>Competitive benefits, bonus and group insurances.</p>",
