Provides age appropriate patient care. Implements evidence-based findings into practice and participates in research as appropriate. </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><em>Licensure/Certification/Registry:</em></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Current RN license in the State of Illinois required.</li>\n <li>Maintain current Healthcare Provider certification.</li>\n <li>Maintain current Provider ACLS certification (required within 12 months of hire).</li>\n <li>Maintain Provider for PEARS certification (required within 12 months of hire).</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Experience:</em></p>\n<ul>\n <li> Meets credit range for Clinical Ladder levels as follows (12 months experience as a registered nurse is required in order to apply for promotion in the clinical ladder):</li>\n <li> Clinical Nurse I: Registered Nurse who achieves a range of 0-12 credits on the Clinical Ladder Behavior Grid. BSN preferred.</li>\n <li>Clinical Nurse II: Registered Nurse who achieves a range of 13-24 credits on the Clinical Ladder Behavior Grid with evidence of behaviors from at least two categories of the Grid. BSN preferred.</li>\n <li>Clinical Nurse III: Registered Nurse who achieves at least 25 credits on the Clinical Ladder Behavior Grid with evidence of behaviors from at least three categories on the Grid. BSN required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</em></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Attends all hospital/nurse manager specified mandatory in-services.</li>\n <li>Maintains competencies as identified in unit specific requirements.</li>\n <li>Completion of self-evaluation. It is the incumbent's responsibility to submit to the nurse manager at annual evaluation time documentation to validate annual credentialing requirements.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<li>Works within the context of the surgical team to provide care to individuals before, during and after a surgical procedure.</li>\n<li>Completes assessment of assigned patient’s condition, develops individual plan of care for patient.</li>\n<li>Provide direct patient care to individuals in the pre-surgical, operative and recovery periods.</li>\n<li>Evaluates outcomes, consults with others as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.</li>\n<p> </p>\n<li>Teaches and supervises the proper performance of nursing acts that have been delegated to others and monitors nursing care of other health care team members.</li>\n<p> </p>\n<li>Promotes patient education and involves the patient and caregivers in the implementation of health goals.</li>\n<p> </p>\n<li>Participates in specific patient quality assessment activities, including chart review as required.</li>\n<p> </p>\n<li>Assures that department is survey-ready at all times.</li>\n<p> </p>\n<li>Performs other related work as required or requested.</li>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em> </em></p>\n<p><em>The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job.
