The successful candidate will join a diverse group of faculty, clinical directors, residents, and staff in their mission to achieve excellence in teaching, scholarly activity, and service.</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities</strong></h3><p>&bull; None.</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong>Duties/Responsibilities</strong></h3><p>Lecture courses are typically taught in the evenings at 8 PM ET and are fully online. Adjunct faculty members must perform all duties associated with teaching graduate-level courses. These duties include:<br>&bull; Course development<br>&bull; Creating a syllabus that includes course objectives, assignments, assessments, and rubrics<br>&bull; Providing lectures to fulfill the course objectives<br>&bull; Leading class discussions<br>&bull; Grading assessments and providing final evaluations<br>&bull; Providing prompt responses to student questions</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong>Required Skills/Abilities</strong></h3><p>&bull; Diagnosis and treatment planning<br>&bull; Socket grafting, guided bone regeneration, and maxillary sinus augmentation<br>&bull; Overview of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures<br>&bull; Understanding of mandible, maxilla, and bone physiology/repair<br>&bull; Overview of implants, their concepts, techniques, and maintenance<br>&bull; Soft tissue management<br>&bull; Fixed and removable prosthodontics in implant dentistry<br>&bull; Periodontal aspects of implant dentistry and peri-implantitis prevention and treatment<br>&bull; Advanced dental implant procedures including zygomatic and pterygoid implants<br>&bull; Management of implant-related complications<br>&bull; Overview of head, neck, and plastic surgery procedures<br>&bull; Laser surgery and treatments<br>&bull; Computer-assisted surgery<br>&bull; Utilization of artificial intelligence in medicine/dentistry<br>&bull; Management of medically compromised patients<br>&bull; Pharmacological considerations for implant dentistry<br>&bull; Conscious sedation of the implant patient</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong>Preferred Skills and Experience</strong></h3><p>&bull; Experience teaching or practicing in implant dentistry or oral/maxillofacial surgery<br>&bull; Expertise in advanced implant techniques and digital dentistry<br>&bull; Demonstrated ability to integrate technology and evidence-based practices into instruction</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong>Education, Certificates, Licenses, &amp; Experience</strong></h3><p>&bull; Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) required<br>&bull; Previous teaching experience at the graduate or postdoctoral level preferred</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></h3><p>&bull; Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines<br>&bull; Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong>Important Note</strong></h3><p>This is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required for this position.
