Arrow is an industry leading transportation, distribution and materials handling organization.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are looking for professional <strong>Class 1 Truck drivers</strong> to join us and become part of our Arrow family in beautiful <strong>Fort St. James, BC.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As an Arrow driver, you will travel to our bush grinder locations in and around Fort St. James. You will be hauling wood fibre locally in B train and walking floor trailers. Wood fibre is mainly comprised of grindings, but we also haul sawdust and hogfuel.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and Regulations</p></li>\n <li><p>Perform pre and post and en route trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, roadworthiness and regulatory compliance</p></li>\n <li><p>Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, load securement, driver's hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions</p></li>\n <li><p>Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols and established metrics</p></li>\n <li><p>Efficiently maneuver truck and trailer(s) into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned</p></li>\n <li><p>Check mobile equipment (i.e. frontend loaders) to ensure that mechanical and safety equipment is in good working order</p></li>\n <li><p>Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to the relevant supervisor</p></li>\n <li><p>Report all safety hazards or conditions encountered at load, unload, yard and shop sites</p></li>\n <li><p>Record, Maintain and Check all relevant paperwork (i.e. bill of lading,) and documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate</p></li>\n <li><p>Operate equipment such as truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers</p></li>\n <li><p>Complete electronic and/or manual logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations</p></li>\n <li><p>Communicate effectively and courteously with the public, customers, and co-workers</p></li>\n <li><p>Assist in loading and unloading of trucks</p></li>\n <li><p>Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure</p></li>\n <li><p>Ensure that material is properly protected from the outdoor elements.
