    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Physician is responsible for supervising and providing necessary and desirable medical care within the Physician’s specialty to Dartmouth-Hitchcock patients, consistent with the policies and procedures of DHC, the facility at which care is rendered, and the directions of the Service Line Leader or his/her designee.</p>\n<p>If the Physician’s specialty is such that call coverage is required, it is expected that the Physician will rotate call coverage with those physicians and allied health professionals in his or her specialty (as applicable) so that each provider, including the Physician, has a comparable amount of on call time during nights, weekends, and holidays for providing coverage outside of standard business hours. Parties expect that while on call, physician shall remain in close proximity as directed by department chair or designee.</p>\n<p>In addition to the Physician’s clinical responsibilities, the Physician will spend sufficient and reasonable time on administrative and record-keeping matters pertaining to the Physician’s medical practice.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul> \n <li> Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO)</li> \n <li> Post graduate training in residency program</li> \n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2> \n<li> Provide clinical and related administrative services and actively participate in and contribute to DHC’s academic endeavors.</li> \n<li> Abide by the Dartmouth Health Bylaws for the Professional Staff and Code of Conduct.</li> \n<li> Review records and detailed medical history from patient(s).</li> \n<li> Determine appropriate diagnosis (diagnoses) and treatment plan(s).</li> \n<li> Determine and order appropriate screening and diagnostic tests and studies.</li> \n<li> Obtain informed consent for treatment diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and studies.</li> \n<li> Interpret and evaluate test and study results.</li> \n<li> Prescribe medications, treatments, and medical devices in accordance within specialty scope of practice and applicable rules and regulations.</li> \n<li> Initiate referrals to other providers as necessary.</li> \n<li> Initiate admission/discharge of patients, if applicable.</li> \n<li> Provide consultation, education, and counseling regarding the management of acute and chronic illnesses and injuries. Encourage behavioral change and assist with self-management skills to improve overall health, within specialty scope of practice.</li> \n<li> Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner.</li> \n<li> Provide patient and family-centered care.</li> \n<li> Insure the patient’s right to privacy, confidentiality and informed consent.</li> \n<li> Supervise APP’s as directed.</li> \n<li> Participate in continuing medical education (CME).</li> \n<li> Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives.</li> \n<li> Participate in academic responsibilities assigned by the Department Chair or designee, to include, but are not limited to:</li> \n<li> Leading small group resident conferences</li> \n<li> Training of Residents</li> \n<li> Teaching medical and other health professional students</li> \n<li> Participating in clinical trials or other sponsored research</li> \n<li> Any other Geisel obligations (if any)</li> \n<li> Perform other duties as assigned.</li> \n<h2>Required Licensure/Certifications</h2>\n<ul> \n <li> Current New Hampshire Medical License</li> \n <li> Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification (to be obtained within 5 years)</li> \n <li> Active hospital staff membership</li> \n</ul>",
