This position checks operation of all installed machinery and safety equipment periodically as programmed, as well as inspects areas of buildings for personnel and patient protection (fire, safety, and security) and recommends corrections. The Engineer will also be responsible for spackling, patch plasters and paint where needed. The Engineer makes emergency repair of equipment or apparatus as required and installs, inspects, maintains, and repairs mechanical and fixed equipment as directed, as well as carries out preventative maintenance programs.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</strong></p><ul><li>Assist in major and minor utility shut down requested by various departments, outside contractors, and in-house shops.</li><li>Install new or replacement machinery, equipment, and fixture following applicable building codes.</li><li>Maintain and repairs various equipment used in the hospitals which include kitchen equipment, patient related equipment, various systems, and multifunction machines.</li><li>Operate various machine tools. (Lathe, drill press, power saw, hydraulic press, etc.).</li><li>Perform equipment preventative maintenance.</li><li>Perform routine inspections of building machines, noting deficiencies, and initiates repairs. As appropriate, responds to customer requests to address environmental deficiencies.</li><li>Assist in maintaining &amp; repairing H.V.A.C. controls &amp; associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas, also assists in maintaining electrical wiring &amp; emergency generator systems. Inspects &amp; tests equipment/systems.</li><li>Perform urgent corrective, routine &amp; requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical &amp; plumbing systems as required.</li><li>Perform preventative maintenance duties to all physical structures of hospital &amp; complies with all building safety codes.</li><li>Paint, spackle and finish all types of surfaces as required and achieves results that meet departmental standards.
