Works to provide direction for children and implements program curriculum. Additionally provides a quality experience for children and parents. Focus on building achievement and relationships among youth and families.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>Required Qualifications:</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>ECE/CD Units:&nbsp;12 semester units in ECE or CD, 6 units can be substituted for recreation, arts &amp; humanities, human services</li><li>CPR/First Aide Certified (or obtained within 30 days of employment)</li><li>Proof of Immunizations: TB, Influenza (limited exceptions), pertussis, and measles vaccination</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Desired Skills:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>1 year childcare/group experience working with Youth, preferably in afterschool setting</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Insure safety of children enrolled in program</li><li>Assist with the preparation of curriculum and daily schedule for program including but not limited to academics, enrichments and recreation&nbsp;</li><li>Assist with supervision of children to provide safety within ratios</li><li>Maintain ongoing communication as well as positive relationships with children, parents, staff, community members and organizations</li><li>Carry out effective behavior management techniques in accordance with the YMCA behavior management policies and procedures</li><li>Maintain a professional manner and positive attitude at all times</li><li>Any other duties related to the operation of the classroom as assigned</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Physical Requirements:</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.</li></ul><p>(Reasonable accommodation will be made available to individuals with disabilities who are not able to perform the physical requirements of the job.)</p><p><strong>Driving Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Occasionally driving to another site to insure teacher to child ratio is maintained</li></ul><p><strong>Background Check:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>All offers of employment are contingent upon the meeting the minimum Association-requirement(s) established for: employment references, personal references, Fingerprinting (a search of the candidate&rsquo;s criminal background history), and physical examinations where required.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>YMCA Competencies (Leader):</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><em><u>Mission Advancement</u></em><em>:</em> Accepts and demonstrates the Y&rsquo;s values.
