Description

description Role: Material Handler Department: Materials & Logistics Location: San Carlos or Hayward Shift: Day Shift (6/7 AM – 2/3:30 PM) or Swing Shift (2/3 PM – 10/11:30 PM) About 1X We’re building humanoid robots that work in home - doing the chores, handling the tasks, and giving people their time back. Simple, but it’s not. To do this right, we have to solve robotics, AI, manufacturing - at the same time, at scale, in a form factor that has to be safe enough to live with your family. If you’re inspired by this, you’ll thrive here. We’ve been at this since 2014 and we’re at the point where the hard problems are behind us and the hard work is in front of us. NEO is our flagship - a home robot designed to move, learn, and operate in the real world alongside real people. We’re not demoing it - we’re shipping it. We’re excited to meet you, if this excites you. If you’ve spent your career working on problems that matter and want to see them actually reach the world - this is that moment. We’re scaling, we’re hiring with intention, and we need people who want to build something that will genuinely change how humans spend their time - safely creating abundance for all. About the Team The Materials & Logistics team is the heartbeat of our San Carlos operation — the people who keep components flowing, production lines stocked, and shipments moving on time. Without us, NEO doesn’t get built. Every robot that walks out of our facility starts with the work this team does, and we take that responsibility seriously. Your Charter As a Materials Handler, you are directly responsible for ensuring the physical flow of materials that keeps NEO production on schedule. Manufacturing and engineering depend on you to have the right parts in the right place at the right time — every shift, without exception. This role sits on the critical path between supply and build, and the precision of your work translates directly into our ability to ship robots that change how people live. requirements Key Outcomes Maintain inventory accuracy at or above 99% through disciplined scanning, labeling, and system updates. Keep production lines continuously supplied — zero stoppages caused by material delays on your shift. Process inbound, outbound, and internal transfers with complete, accurate documentation, every time. Own the safety and organization of your work area — every shift ends cleaner and safer than it started. Respond to shifting production priorities quickly, escalating risks early so the team can adjust. Key Competencies Bias for action — you see what needs to be done and move on it without waiting to be asked. Detail-obsessed — you treat inventory accuracy and documentation as non-negotiable, because downstream teams depend on it. Calm in a fast-paced environment — priorities shift, equipment moves, and you stay focused and safe through it. Team-first communication — you flag issues early, share context generously, and never let a teammate get blindsided. Safety mindset — you understand that one shortcut can hurt someone, and you refuse to take it. Minimum Requirements Prior experience in warehouse, logistics, or materials handling. Hands-on experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks — certification is ideal but not a deal breaker if you can pass training quickly. Comfortable using scanners, labels, and shipping documentation in a daily workflow. Able to perform physical work, including lifting and moving materials throughout a full shift. Reliable and punctual — your team is counting on you to be there, on time, every shift. Preferred Skills Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment (electronics, automotive, or robotics a plus). Familiarity with WMS or ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar). Current forklift certification. Experience supporting a fast-scaling operation where processes are still being built. What does a successful 1X Team Member look like Team members at 1X who thrive here are builders. They move fast, own their work completely, and treat time like it’s the one thing you can’t get back — because it is. They say what they mean, finish what they start, and hold themselves to a standard before anyone has to ask. We push each other to be better, and we do it with honesty and respect. Compensation Range $25.00/hr – $30.00/hr + Equity Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage Generous paid time off, company holidays, and parental leave 401(k) plan with company match (100% on the first 3% of contributions, 50% on the next 2%) Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) options Commuter benefits (transit and parking) Short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for mental health, financial, and personal support Onsite snacks and catered lunches Equal Opportunity Employer 1X is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, marital status, medical condition, genetic information, disability, military or veteran status, justice system impact, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state, or local law. sharing_description Role: Material HandlerDepartment: Materials & LogisticsLocation: San Carlos or HaywardShift: Day Shift (6/7 AM – 2/3:30 PM) or Swing Shift (2/3 PM – 10/11:30 PM)About 1XWe’re building humanoid rob
