Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Quality Assurance Coordinator to join the Environmental Services Quality Assurance Team. Apply today to join our team!
As a Quality Assurance Coordinator, Environmental Services with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:
Support the achievement of Vancouver Coastal Health’s (VCH’s) broader organizational and quality improvement strategic direction.
Participate in and support the administration of the regional Quality Assurance
Program and ensure compliance to all criteria and organizational policies through auditing, training of aides, supervisors and managers and updating cleaning procedures for the department.
Participate in the monitoring, analysis and reporting of quality assurance and control imperatives for environmental services.
Coordinate the implementation of new systems, initiatives, policies and procedures. Participate on various committees as required.
Work with all levels of leadership across the organization, all programs and sites, and support point-of-care teams (physicians, nursing, and allied care) and interact with leadership, clinical leadership, patient and resident care management and corporate and support leaders.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Diploma in Environmental Management, Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related discipline, plus a minimum one (1) year recent related experience in a healthcare environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Valid BC Driver’s License as local area travel within the VCH geographic area, may require the use of a vehicle.
Knowledge & Abilities
Knowledge of quality improvement principles and practices and methodologies, measurement techniques, and tools.
Demonstrated knowledge of health facility support service operations including but not limited to housekeeping, infection prevention and control, basic microbiology, evidence-based cleaning and disinfection practices, handling multiple waste streams, floor care and also the ability and skills to maintain consistency in performance.
Demonstrated excellent facilitation and training skills, and knowledge of adult education principles and practices.
Strong desire and ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision, including excellent follow – through skills.
Ability to resolve issues and disputes.
Experience in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement; process drive and ability to move forward with improvements.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to provide guidelines and execution of cleaning standards.
Strong written, presentations and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills with knowledge of Windows application, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment.
Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and indigenous lens.
Practices the recognition, inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
