Description
Position Summary
The Prospect Research and Donor Relations Coordinator plays an important role in supporting Harris-Stowe State University’s fundraising and engagement goals by assisting with prospect research, donor stewardship, and data management. This position helps identify and organize donor information, prepare research and briefing materials, support donor acknowledgments, and maintain accurate records that strengthen the University’s philanthropic pipeline and donor relationships.
Working closely with Institutional Advancement leadership, development officers, alumni relations, and marketing and communications, the Coordinator helps ensure donors feel informed, valued, and connected to the University’s mission. The role supports day-to-day research, reporting, and stewardship activities that contribute to donor retention, engagement, and effective fundraising operations.
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct prospect research to identify, qualify, and prioritize individual, corporate, and foundation donors. Prepare prospect profiles, briefing materials, and supporting research for Advancement leadership and development staff. Maintain accurate donor and prospect records in the CRM/database and support data integrity. Assist with donor acknowledgments, stewardship communications, and recognition activities. Prepare reports and basic dashboards to track donor engagement, pipeline activity, and stewardship outcomes. Collaborate with Advancement, Finance, alumni relations, and Communications to support donor relations and fundraising operations. Support process improvements and other advancement activities as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. 2 to 4 years of experience in advancement, prospect research, donor relations, or related administrative support preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to analyze data and support fundraising strategy. Experience with donor databases or CRM systems preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and discretion. Commitment to the mission of Harris-Stowe State University. Compensation
Salary is commensurate with experience and aligned with grant-funded budget parameters. Position is eligible for university benefits for the duration of appointment.
