    "requisitionDescription": "<h2 data-pasted=\"true\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Job Summary:</span></h2><p>Delaware Valley University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Biology, starting in August 2026. &nbsp;The Biology Department seeks dynamic candidates with expertise in Pharmaceutical Science, Human Disease/Pathology and/or Epidemiology. &nbsp; Delaware Valley University is committed to undergraduate education therefore candidates will be required to teach introductory courses for science majors and non-majors. &nbsp;The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to strengthen our Pre-professional curriculum by developing courses in their area of expertise. &nbsp;</p><p>Candidates should submit a letter of application that includes their teaching interests, any research interests that can be used to further our undergraduate experience, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, and the names and contact information for three professional references. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><h2><br><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</span></h2><p>Reporting directly to Chair of the Biology Department, this faculty member will:</p><ul><li data-pasted=\"true\">Create new courses related to their field of expertise</li><li data-pasted=\"true\">Be adaptable to teach at various levels within the discipline</li><li>Teach introductory courses in Biology</li><li>Remain current in the field</li><li>Recruit and advise students as needed</li><li>Post and maintain regular office hours</li><li>Serve on faculty committees as assigned or selected</li><li>Participate in professional development activities</li><li>Attend regularly scheduled faculty meetings, department meetings, and other required meetings</li><li>Assist with departmental needs and development including outcomes assessment</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned&nbsp;</li></ul><h2><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Education and Experience:</span></h2><ul><li>Ph.D. in Biology, or related discipline</li><li>Specialization in Pharmaceutical Science, Human Disease/Pathology or Epidemiology&nbsp;</li><li>Experience teaching biology courses at the undergraduate level</li><li>Experience teaching bioinformatics a plus</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills</li><li>Commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring</li><li>Commitment to ongoing faculty development and scholarship</li><li>Evidence of successful scholarship</li><li>Experience with online delivery of courses is beneficial&nbsp;</li></ul><p><br><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">About the University:</span></strong></p><p>Founded in 1896, DelVal is an academically rigorous interdisciplinary university dedicated to the sciences and liberal arts.
