    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Responsible for the overall operation of the Life Support Laboratory including staffing, inventory control, water chemistry, quality control, and adherence to governmental and safety policies.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Responsible for the overall safe and efficient operation of the Life Support Laboratory</p>\n<p>· Operate and maintain all related equipment and chemical processes</p>\n<p>· Assist in preparation of annual budget under the direction of the Life Support Supervisor</p>\n<p>· Oversee the purchasing of new materials and supplies for the Laboratory</p>\n<p>· Communicate testing results to Attending Veterinarian Team and Management via the OERCA Animal Welfare Application</p>\n<p>· Communicate testing results to the Life Support Team for real time adjustments</p>\n<p>· Oversee the Laboratory’s safety program and enforce safety policies and procedures</p>\n<p>· Interface with regulatory agencies and accrediting organizations to maintain all standards accordingly.</p>\n<p>· Work in concert with Life Support Supervisor to ensure all facilities are complaint with both regulatory and accrediting organization as appropriate.</p>\n<p>· Enforce all departmental policies as needed; follow and enforce all polices of Six Flags Discovery Kingdom</p>\n<p>· Other duties as requested</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>1-3 years previous experience as a Water Quality Laboratory Technician (AZA or ZAA Affiliation Preferred)</p>\n<p>· AALSO Water Quality Certification Preferred</p>\n<p>· Experience with OERCA Animal Welfare Application preferred</p>\n<p>· Must have a thorough working knowledge of water chemistry, as it applies to a wide variety of systems including marine mammal, fish and avian systems</p>\n<p>· Must be able to work in all types of weather both indoors and outdoors</p>\n<p>· Must be able to deal effectively with other professionals and governmental agencies</p>\n<p>· Must possess excellent organizational skills</p>\n<p>· Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays</p>\n<p>· Must possess good corrected/uncorrected eyesight.</p>\n<p>· Must be able to read, write and speak English</p>\n<p>· Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Applications</p>",
